Hi. When clicking a category, it lists all packages as blog. Is it possible to list all files in category as in widgets to the right?
Hi there, just purchased your pro product. I need to know how I can password protect an entire download area on the blog.
For instance I would like a particular category password protected with a single point of entry. Once the user has input the password, they would have access to everything in the directory. Is that possible?
I’ve attached a screen shot of the wordpress site: the category called “Media Hub” is in the secondary menu. Not a widget. When the user clicks on “Media Hub” I would like them to enter a password to have access to that area. Once in, they would ideally see a page with all the downloadable content. Also would I be able to track downloads with this method? Once they are in, can I track what they download? Thanks!
In setting up a client site, I am having some problems with the link templates.
First problem is that audio player is constantly spinning and does not seem to load the audio file.
Works fine on page template, so I feel like it is an issue when more than one play is displayed on the page.
Second question is I wanted to hide the download link under the audio play.
I did this with CSS:
ol.list-group {
display: none;
}
Is there a better way?
Finally, this install uses 2 categories for PDF and Audio downloads.
Is it possible to have conditional link templates to display PDF download options when it is a PDF and then audio player when there is an audio download? At the moment, ‘Download PDF’ is visible on all downloads even though audio downloads do not have PDF to download.
I am displaying the categories with:
[wpdm_category id="audio-interviews,pdf-articles," cols="1" toolbar=0 item_per_page=5 template="539657d418c45"]
If I remove template="539657d418c45
it does not display the link template that I specified in the download settings.
Thanks in advance.
Paul
You have a demo page template – http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/all-downloads/
I would like my page – http://fabnetpro.com/download/abey-sink-templates/ to look the same. What page template is it or is this custom?
Second question, is there a way to change the ‘download’ button to a ‘login/register’ button if the user is not logged in?
Thanks,
Andy
Hi Shaon,
The Bulk Import feature really covers what I’m looking for in a file/download manager. I’m interested in the administrator having the ability to upload multiple files and each file becoming its own package. So, its great that this feature is part of the plugin.
I would love to have the ability for a non-technical administrator to login to the front-end (or even the dashboard) drag-and-drop a bunch of files set for a specific category and have them all put into the system as separate packages. I haven’t discovered the best way to do this yet.
If for example I go to Dashboard > Downloads > Add New and I drag-and-drop multiple files then they become only 1 zipped package. It seems to work the same from wpdm_frontend.
A few questions:
1. Is there a way to use the bulk import feature from the front-end?
2. Is there a way to create new categories from the front-end?
3. Bulk Import works well with individual files that are already on the server. What would be the best way to drag-and-drop upload the files and import them? One method I can think of is uploading images through the WordPress Media manager. Then using Bulk Import to set the import directory to /uploads/[year]/[month] to get the files. I see this as too cumbersome for a non-technical user and will be problematic when the next import happens in the same month. It would probably require an upgraded media manger plugin with better organization. Is there a better way to achieve this?
Thank you,
Mike S
Why are we getting Link-expired.txt when we do not have a “end date” for this download to be available. The downloads need to be active at ALL times. We do not have a “Download Limit”.
I just updated from 4.1.0 to 4.1.1 and everything went to hell! Nothing works anymore. All buttons show Broken image link! The templates for the downloads are gone.
Adding some photos. in the 3.png the downloads were side by side before
UPDATE: I fixed it. It was an error from my end. Sorry for the trouble 🙂
I’ve installed WP Download Manager on a WordPress Multisite installation. I have NOT activated the plugin on the network plugins dashboard, but rather after creating a subsite, I then activated it on each individual subsite.
For each subsite, I’ve entered a (Settings > Basic) FILE BROWSER ROOT sub-directory to match the subsite name (example cls) *note – I did NOT end with a tailing slash. I did this thinking it would create a sub-directory to place uploaded files for each site into the sub-directory /nas/wp/www/sites/wrc/cls. What I found however, was not the case. All files no matter which site… parent (wrc) or subsite (cls) that I uploaded files to via the Dashboard Downloads Interface were instead housed in the /wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files rather than the dir nas/wp/www/sites/wrc/cls directory.
A major clue was that files were getting named with the same ID!
Parent site WRC file upload “Youth Rally Gift Package” shared the same ID as the CLS subsite file “subscription fee schedule” ([wpdm_package id='3011']).
When I looked at this via FTP – it confirmed that all are going into the wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files directory.
I’m guessing there is something not right with my setup? Should I have used the URL STRUCTURE option instead? Your help and wisdom is appreciated.
Hi, I am struggling to bulk upload files using a CSV file. I have attached the file I am using, but I am unsure about the template references, users and the file location. If I upload this file, it just takes me back to the list of existing downloads.
I can upload from server fine, but I have no control over which templates to use, even though I have just purchased the ‘Default values’ plugin.
I need to upload around 1000 files, and I want them all to use the same templates and user access etc.
Can you please help?
I have deleted myself from the web site and turned it over to the client. Yet I am receiving dozens of notifications of file downloads. They are all spam I am certain because there is no captcha in place. This really needs it because I get at least 2 dozen per day.
How am I getting these notifications when my email address is nowhere in the admin any longer?

Hello,
the members of my blog report that the download stops after around 1 MB. I hecked this and it is true. All downloads with Download Manage Pro” stops after 1 MB with a network failure. I tested the direct download without Download Manager Pro” and it works perfect. No issue with the server or the file.
Please help me on this topic else I get really problems with my customers.
Hi,
I would like to create a site, where ONLY the user-specific downloads are shown.
I use the add-on “Advanced Access Control” and i created a page using the shortcode [wpdm_my_downloads]. On this page i see all downloads now including the individual ones. But as we have a lot of downloads on the site, the user can hardly find them. Is ist possible to show ONLY the personal files, not the files that can be seen by all visitors?
Thanks for your answer.
