Hi Shahriar,
I have tested on completely separate computers which have never visited the site before, and in different browsers. All are experiencing the same problem. I’m not sure what the best thing to do would be as it seems to be working for you only.
At the moment, the Archive plugin is not working at all following the update. I am getting the following error message:
Fatal error: Class ‘wpdm_pagination’ not found in /home/gatcainf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpdm-archive-page/wpdm-archive-page.php on line 386
Updating the plugin through the new updater does not seem to work. Nor can I find the archive plugin in your list of add ons or my downloads to download it again from scratch.
Any ideas?
Hello,
I have the same Problem, but only when I generate a new download. The old ones have the right Icon. (see the attached picture)
We use the Tree-View shortcut for viewing the downloads. But I also can’t give you access because its only an Intranet site behind a firewall.
Bye Sascha
As an update to any watching, I attempted to do as Substance151 suggested and installed the advanced custom fields add on that came with the special pack I purchased. This looks promising for creating the fields and getting data but as of yet I am unsure how to generate a second email with the data collected.
After creating a group and some fields in the “Custom Fields” area of the downloads menu I went to add them to the form lock only to find that it would not show the field group I created in the drop down… it just said “Select an option” with nothing to select.
Ok… There was an issue someone else had that was similar and 4.5.0 had come out.
After update I was getting an error (see other post) so I deactivated WPDM until I get a resolution to that.
I will keep people updated on how I try to deal with this simple function that should be basic but is not.
Hi,
We are releasing an update soon to fix this issue. Downloads are there, appears after search. However, after update all downloads will be shown by default.
Thanks.
Got it, you want to move Download Manager packages to another site.
Follow these steps,
1. Copy ../wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files directory to your new sites ../wp-content/uploads/ directory.
2. Export all Downloads using Tools Export (You have to install WordPress export plugin)
https://www.evernote.com/l/AUf_JCOb_lhE9aJk8kcNgu1ipSGbDN5HXUAB/image.png
3. Import the file now using Tools Import option, assign all posts to one of admin users
Done.
Check allowed user roles from in Downloads Settings Frontend settings. Only allowed user roles will see the wpdm frontend. Please send login info in private reply if that does not solve it.
We are using the Data Table shortcode to display our downloads and we really like it.
Short-codes
It is setup to be used with Categories (or All Downloads if you remove the Category filter). Is it possible to use Tags? Tags are working with the Tag Shortcode, but we need to use Tags with the Data Table mode too.
Thank You.
Hello
every visitor is not checked into categories, but all the other roles, so I limit for individual packages in categories I check only admin and then select PACKAGES in which roles have access to downloads. Right?
Thanks for your help
Please use following short-code to get the Responsive Table output:
[wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=10 jstable=1]
To modify the view you need to do the following:
1) Copy tpls
dir folder from download-manager plugin to your active theme dir
2) Rename the copied tpls
folder in your active theme to download-manager
3) finally, To you can modify the output of the table by editing
[active-theme-dir]/download-manager/wpdm-all-downloads.php
http://osz-biv.de/bildungsgaenge/berufliches-gymnasium/termine-und-downloads/ <— this is because you copy/paste short-code, where some extra html tag pasted too. Please use this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ to generate short-code.
http://osz-biv.de/downloads/allgemein/ <— is because of your theme, however, please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply, I shall adjust it for you.
http://3dmatic.com.au/wpdm-package/drilling-template/ <– this page is showing page template only, however you can customize or create new page template from Admin Menu Downloads Templates. Doc: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/
To test csv in your installation, please make /download-manager/wpdm-functions.php writable or give me ftp access to download-manager dir..
Hello there,
for my project I need a list of files from a category, I tried the last 4 hours to get this done with the plugin but I end in bugs, maybe its theme related?
These are my settings (for testing)
https://gyazo.com/d8ebc59d0a49923446ec94c7458019d9
and this will end in this view:
http://osz-biv.de/bildungsgaenge/berufliches-gymnasium/termine-und-downloads/
another test, this settings:
https://gyazo.com/c86380235114102d1828bfcd3e05c172
will end in this view (download category page)
http://osz-biv.de/downloads/allgemein/
how to fix that? I only want a list view of files which are belonging to a category?
I am experiencing a settings problem at Downloads Settings Frontend Category Page Options
My settings got “stuck”. No matter what changes I make to the Basic Style display (and yes, I’m clicking “save”) it reverts back to the last style. I can switch to the Link Style, but when I go back to Basic Style, I still have my last used settings which can’t be changed.
Before I messed with this section, on the Category Page, I had the featured image, the title of the download (linked to the download itself), and the (truncated) description. Then I noticed this section of settings (which, by default, had neither Basic nor Link style toggled on) and started trying things….now I can’t get back to how it was.
I can only toggle between the two options (Use Basic Style or Use Link Template) — which would be fine, as the Basic Style with everything unchecked seems to have been the default. However, it’s not working as I would expect. I would expect to be able to uncheck all the boxes, and have all those items not displayed.
1) I can’t ever uncheck all the boxes in Basic Style. Whatever “last box” I had checked, it stays checked, even if I uncheck it and save settings.
2) If I select “Download Link” I just get the word “Download” in plain text — it’s not linked. But a download button (linked) does display, which is redundant.
I hope you can help me resolve this. If you need access to review my settings I can provide it.
Hi,
All the pages that WPDM should create result in 404 errors. Even the shortcode [wpdm_user_dashbord] doesn’t work. I have the latest wordpress and latest download manager pro versions. Links to individual downloads do work. My wordpress is currently installed in a sub folder on my server because it’s in the development stage.
I’ve been going through all the settings but I must be missing something.. Help please!
Support,
I have loaded WPDM and the accordian add-on. I’ve added some downloads and am using the shortcode [wpdm-accordian] to output on the download page. The accordian opens, however the link template does not show properly. All it shows when the accordian opens is “link-template-panel.php”, see attached.
Please advise,
Thanks,
John

i use this shortcode to show all downloads of a category at a page:
[wpdm_category id="XXpermalinkXX" cols="1" toolbar=1 desc=1 item_per_page=10 template="link-template-default-icon"]
Hi,
i am showing the downloads on a page. It is listed by date. I need it to sort it manually. How can i sort the downloads?
Thx
Hello and thank you for your response.
Initially i got confused, i was still trying to use the same page (site homepage) i was using before. And problems remained.
Then i saw you used a specific page for the “User Dashboard” and chosen it instead of the previous (homepage). I looked into it and it worked.
So, to everyone reading this, do not define User Dashboard on site homepage.
Just some things disturb me at the moment, and i ask you if there is a solution:
- On the User Dashboard, why do users see files on the “Recommended Downloads” area, that they have no access to? Is there a way to show only files that user can access? (commented screenshot in the attached file)
- On the User Dashboard, what is the user level area supposed to do? Print account type? Why is it empty?
- On the User Dashboard’s main page, the “Profile link” is redundant, please make it disappear on dashboard main page.
- On the User Dashboard’s profile page, there is a Paypal email field, is there a way to hide it?/li>
- Is there a shortcode cheat-sheet? Os is this page it?
Thanks in advance.
Hello, i’ve recently acquired WPDM-PRO and WPDM Custom Access level plugins.
I installed a fresh copy of plugins, verse theme ad WP latest. We have permalinks set to full URL.
We need to set-up a simple file sharing system, to allow our client to share files with clients in a secure manner.
I setup the website so that at the homepage, users see the login form, once logged they see the user dashboard (simply used [wpdm_user_dashboard] in the page).
The dashboard has some links that do not work. And we had to manually create some pages to account for the broken links in the dashboard menu:
A – “Edit Profile” leads to 404, we solved in a page with [wpdm_edit_profile]);
B – “Profile link” seems useless as it only reloads that same page;
C – “Download History” leads to 404, we created a page to solve the 404 but do not know that shortcode to use there! (complete lack of documentation)
D – “”Logout” leads to 404 how do i solve that?.
User level section is completely BLANK (what is it for?)
User dashboard also shows on Recommended Downloads section downloads that the user is NOT ALLOWED to download or even see.
We need to know how to create a page that shows all downloads avaiable to the logged user. Last 5 downloads in dashboard is not nearly enough. What happens if user needs to re-download old files? There is no way to get to them since “Download History” link is broken.
At the moment i find this plugin to be immature, it is missing documentation, i found many shortcodes in the code that do not even exit in the documentation (ex. [wpdm_my_downloads] gives a list of files for the user, but information is limited and besides prints a PHP error related to WPDM Custom Access plugin.)
And we thought this was a mature plugin….
HELP!
Access roles will not actually affect category visibility, it just will control access to downloads.
- No rewriting there, you are copying the tpls dir from download manager plugin dir to active theme dir.
- Them rename it copied tpls dir ( which is in your theme dir ) to
download-manager
- Now edit wpdm-all-downloads.php in side download-manager dir ( which is in your active them dir )
Now if you use the short-code, it will use wpdm-all-downloads.php from your theme folder.
