sorry to push that very old thread up again.
@Shahjada you said, that the networkwide shortcode integration would be a feature added soon.
That was in 2015.
Did that already happened? 🙂 Because this would be a really good feature.
Or is there another easy thing to share downloads cross-site (in the same multisite network)? For now I’ll do that with iframes.
But that’s very static and not what I really want.Would love to hear some good news 🙂

I Installed your Downloader Manager Plugin last week, and want to upgradde to the Pro version. But I want to get the Free version set up, with some downloads first, before i commit to buy.
I only have one current issue. I’ve created the Categories, (And set the permissions to ‘All Visitors’ for the Categorys access. And have made a few new Download posts. And have set the download access permissions to ‘Subscriber’ and ‘Administrator’ But when i log out, it’s still allowing me to Download the file. I want it to ask the User to Log-In, before they download any of the files, so I can then monitor who’s downloading what.
Once I can get the Permissions sorted, I can then finally upgrade the Plugin to Pro. I had a few issues at first install which my Theme Developer has sorted for me.
I’ve noticed that there is a lot of extra Add-Ons, for the Downloader Manager Plugin. And many i am also interested in. But as I don’t make any revenue, and all features on my website are free of charge, I just want to make sure that this Plugin works with the permission issue before i upgrade. I already have a premium Theme, and quite a few other Premium Plugins, which I use. And I’m really looking forward to introducing this plugin to my website Visitors. And our website gets a very high volume of visitors. So it would be really beneficial for me to use the Pro version of this plugin. The only thing holding me back is this issue where all visitors can just download the files. Even when I have sett the permissions to only allow the 2 registered groups.
Another quuestion I wanted to ask. Is when i list a download. The download box background is ‘White’ is there any way that I can change the background to the same colour as my Theme? This isn’t a big issue, but would be cool if when it’s possible to do this.
I really like the look of this Plugin. It looks great, and does everything that I need, and think it would be a huge success with our Users and visitors.
Any help with the persmissions issue would be very greatly appreciated.

You are not allowed to download.How do I allow users to access the downloads? Is there a step I have missed on resetting the DM plugin?

1 ) Deactivate and delete the old version. You won’t lose any data.
2 ) Download latest version from here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases
3 ) Install the latest version and activate the license key.Logout and then login again from your Downloads > Settings > Updates tab to fix any issue related to quick update. After that you can update the plugin your plugins page.

Topic: License Key Invalid
Hi, we have been using DM for a number of years now and having checked my products all look to be fine in DM purchase section, however on WordPress there is an alert stating Invalid License Key.
The issues we have now is that we cannot upload documents for download on to our site and the message reads Access Denied on the downloads page.
Also in the WordPress Plugins page there is the message; Please activate Download Manager license for automatic update. Validate license key.

I updated to Pro version 5.0.2 on October 27th on our Production website.
Today I noticed that on all existing downloads that the section to select one of the already created categories is missing. If I try to create a new download the issue also exists. I checked our Development site running Pro version 4.9.8 and I can clearly see the ‘Categories’ section in a per-existing download named, “Ottawa Plenary – Member Survey – feedback summaries”. The same download on the Production website is missing the ‘Categories’ section.
Note that all of the individually created categories under the ‘Categories’ section in the Pro plugin are present in the Production web site.
Any help to resolve this issue is much appreciated.

Hi Shahriar,
Still not sure what you mean by hook but I hope its something we can enable as a setting in Downloads > Settings or something we can add to the CSV. Basically something that will survive each time the WPDM version is updated.
We will hold off developing our own code to use this feature until we see how you have implemented in a future release. If you remember to it would be great if you updated this thread once it was released.

The thumbnails still aren’t updating.
All caching plugins are still off. And the server doesn’t have any caching set up. Different browsers, devices and networks – still no updating.If you click on the Test Imagick 4 thumbnail on the test page, you will see the PDF looks totally different.
**UPDATE**
I found a new forum entry where you provided this information:You have to clear the cache from Downloads > Settings > Privacy Tab. And that delete all cached thumbs.

Looks like the issue occurs only when the user is downloading as a guest. I have tested several downloads after logging in. All download attempts were successful http://prntscr.com/pxignoBut I encountered issues with some files when tried to download as a guest. And this can be related to the WPENgine caching. Please contact the WP Engine support an ask them to exclude URLs like the following one to exclude from the cache. That should fix the issue for non-logged-in users.

– user interface
-frontend access
– social settings
-updates
-licence
-privacySo I am missing the options for:
-cloud storage
-quick forms
-convertkit
-form lock
– invoice for PFD
-mail chimp
-PDF stamper
-premium packageHow do I get these to appear? I want to add custom fields to the download form

I have just installed the Free version of this Plugin. And am testing it out, before i commit to the upgrade to the Pro version.
I am curently experiencing some issues. When i add featured Image. The Image is showing twice on each listing.
The second issue i am having, is I can’t seem to find a list of my Categories. I want to add the page, where the Download Categories are. Is this possible? Or a way to show all downloads? Or does this have to be done via the Widgets?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am impressed with this Plugin so far, and if i can get things sorted i will certainly be upgrading the Plugin.

We use the short code below to create a table of downloadable files on a page that are private. One has to be signed into our website to view the page and the downloads. When the table lists the Title, it also shows the word “Private:” next to each download title. We would like to remove that text in both the TITLE and the PAGE LINK listed in the table. Please advise where we can manage and change this output of text. Thanks!

Is there a way to activate notifications when a new download been published?
I want to send an e-mail to all members when I do add a new download and publish it.Your URLs were being stripped by an SQL escaping function. I have adjusted the code to fix it. I also deleted old files and imported the CSV again. Please check now. All downloads look okay. You can import rest of files.

1 ) No, deleting a package doesn’t delete the thumbnail. You have to clear the cache from Downloads > Settings > Privacy Tab. And that delete all cached thumbs.
2 & 3 ) Sorry, no better option at the moment. Either you can delete individual thumb manually Or you can just clear the cache.

3 ) Install the latest version and activate the license key.I am using the plugin to list downloads belonging to certain categories using short codes, but the plugin stopped working a few weeks ago. All I get now is lots of horizontal lines with no text.
To try and fix it, I’ve updated to latest version of plugin, and was asked to re-enter licence, and log in. But the problem remains.
I set up the short codes several years ago on an earlier version of the plugin. They allow me to display a list of files according to category. I have tried to check whether these codes need re-creating but I can’t find how to do this.
