I have a site where all my downloads are publicly available. Members can add any download they wish. We want users with Editor access to be allowed to upload packages with specific fields that users of the Subscriber role cannot see. So if an Editor created a package with the specific category “Historical” they get additional fields: Publication, Link to Publication. Those fields would be public, but no other users adding a package could have access to add that category.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this?
Thanks.
You were using the Download After Submit add-on for Liveform. We dropped the support for this add-on because Form Lock ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-form-lock/ ) is a better product for this use case. I have installed the Form Lock on your site and form locked downloads are working now.
We released the update today. You will find the following option in Basic Misc Panel.

1 ) All cookies are erased when the user closes the browser. WPDM does not store persistent cookies.
2 ) No, if user downloads without login and the package is open ( not locked ) no cookies are set.
Hi
ok I have comment out line 17 from libs/class.DownloadStats.php as described in a further response of Hasibul Amin Hemel because you haven’t published an update that shall regulate the IP anonymization till now.
Regarding cookies:
1. How long will the cookies mentioned from Shahriar be stored at the computer of the user?
2. The user of my website can download for free and without any login and there is no import possibility. Really simply. Are there still cookies set?
Thanks in advance
Hi all
Is there anyway that an email or list of emails could be setup to get a notice that a new download was put in the system, perhaps based on categories?
Hello, I’m wondering so less questions about the gdpr. it is a big trouble and problem in germany.
I need the exact text what the cookie will do and how long it is set and what userdata will be stored and why ….
I have only two situations with your plugin … free for all and some only for registrated and logged in users …
will it work for me and count the downloads further, when I comment out the line 17? are you work on update to integrate the gdpr as options for your plugin? without it will illegal in europe and a lot of people here are very nervous now …
thanks for help soon
p. s. I did buy/renegate the update in march but in my account there is not seeing (but you activated for me the download)
Hi Kathleen,
Please deactivate and delete the free version first, then install the Pro version. Your downloads will still be there. Deleting plugin doesn’t delete downloads.
Please send temporary wp-admin login info in private reply. I will make a small change to anonymize IP.
Here is our privacy policy http://w3eden.com/privacy-policy.html
Thanks.
I have installed the latest version there. The downloads are working now. By the way, deleting the plugin doesn’t delete your downloads or settings.

Ah, thank you for doing that! I should’ve checked before posting.
I do have two more questions.
First: is there a way to implement a category listing? Ideal would be: dropdown with all categories that, when selected, displays only downloads in that category.
Second: is there a demo of all the built-in templates somewhere so I can quickly see what best fits my needs?
Thank you very much!

You are using tree shortcode there. That’s how it works. The user can only see the packages she/he can download.
There are many shortcodes, each one has their own features. If you are trying to show all packages then best option if all downloads shortcode https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_all_packages-list-all-downloads-in-tabular-format-in-a-page/
Using TinyMCE add-on ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ ) you can insert shortcodes easily.
Directory Add-on ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/ ) has a shortcode [wpdm-tags cols="4" icon="tag" btnstyle="default"] which lists all tags and clicking a tag redirects user to the tag archive page.
You can also try this shortcode https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_tag-query-all-downloads-from-specified-tags/
Hi we are showing category wise downloads on our site. After clicking on any file user is redirected to page where all details of file are displayed with link to download them. We don’t want to allow user to download files from this page and we want user to be redirected to new page where all details will be displayed and download will start directly.
Can this be done out of box with your module or it will need customization for this?
Hi,
Yesterday I purchased Download Manager Pro v4.7.4.
I manually uploaded the files via ftp and the plugin activated. It then asked me to update my license key which I retrieved from the member’s area.
When I hit save I get the message attached.
We have a in the region of 280 paying members and at the moment all the downloads are disabled so if you could look at this as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it.
Regards,
Micheal

Hi,
There is no function to add numbering yet. But You can customize the all downloads table template here ../download-manager/tpls/wpdm-all-downloads.php
Thanks
I have WPDM pro. At the moment all my downloads are free for anyone to download though I may want to change that in the future. I would like to make it easy for anyone to select from one to all the files in a package and download them as a zip or as separate files. I am completely failing to see how to do this. My nearest attempt is this: https://www.coresystemtrust.org.uk/translations/spanish/
I don’t like the look of those default templates but that’s another matter. The first one does what I want giving the user all the files in one zip. The second one gives them the same file collection as a zip if the user hits “download” (not what I would expect as a naive luser) and hitting the link in the box does give a very crude selection but that only allows the user to download each PDF file separately.
Surely I must be missing something. Help please.
Chris

All downloads have a blank modal_icon, where is this gathered from?
Hi,
You can use All download list shortcode to show all download available to user. Here is the demo.
Thanks
In Dashboard:
I miss: affiliates, user level, total downloads, new password, display name, billing address,
all words
Hi,
All items/package/downloads menu is shown on the frontend page, you need to use shortcode [wpdm_frontend flaturl=0] on the page.
Thanks
Hi,
You could either use All packages shortcode to show all the downloads as they are free or category shortcode to show downloads of specific categories.
You can use this filter to add a menu in the dashboard.
Thanks
