Can this product do this?
I have set up a temporary admin account. Please let me know how to send the username/password to your support.
I have a new installation of WPDM and this is the first time I have used it. I may be doing something wrong but even if I just use the defaults and upload a single pdf file, I can’t get it to display the page. I am getting a 404 error: Page Not Found Error.
If I add the shortcode ie [wpdm_package id='12345'] in a page I know works, then I do get a link. It works, downloads instantly and the counter works but all the rest of the functionality like email lock etc, does not function
My version of WordPress is 4.3.0 and I am using the Canvas theme.
I would appreciate any help you could give me.
In a pre-sale question I specifically asked if the WordPress download manager plugin could allow visitors to a website that was utilizing this plugin if the visitor could download multiple documents at once. Basically designating what documents they’d want to download and then click “download” or something similar and have them all download at once, saving the website visitor time and effort. I was told this function was available with your plugin. Please explain in DETAIL how to make this function work with your plugin. we have been doing a lot of trial and error with your plugin, and the support and documentation is very limited, and have yet to figure out how this feature works in your plugin as you had promised it was capable of.
It is months later after i asked to put language strings for words in directory addon – and those still not working. What’s the point of having those, if they are not working?
It’s really inconvenient to modify php/js files everytime after update.
Please, fix this asap.
btw. same goes for strings in downloads list, there’s no effect after translating “order by”, “asc”, “desc” strings – it’s really supposed to be fixed with latest release, which was promised months ago.
I want to create a single page which lists all of the downloads available at the /download/ folder. This should allow anyone who gets to that page, which I need to be password protected, to click a line to download the file.
Is there an automatic way to create such a page?
Thanks, Richard
Hello,
I have an issue with changing the download file URLS.
All my files (Over 3500 of them) are stored on an external server, and so, I add packages by adding URLS.
The problem I have now is that I want to change these URLS periodically to prevent sharing misuse and to save bandwidth.
I have seen that everything seems to be saved in the postmeta file in the DB. Now, when I update all of the links via the postmeta, reupload the file. The download packages no longer work. The postmeta now holds the updated URLS, but when I go to each package (“Downloads; All Packages; Package 001” etc) The attached file still shows the old URL.
How do ensure that it updates to the new ones? Is there another DB file it uses that I’m missing here?
Many thanks
Hi Shaon,
Now when we upload a document, when we try and download the file it just downloads a file called: download-manager-files with no extension. This doesn’t happen for previously uploaded files, only new ones. I have tested with multiple file formats (Word and Excel).
This is for the Ford & Doonan website. You should have login details but let me know.
This is rather urgent as the client desperately needs to upload some key documents.
Thanks
Ross
Hallo Shaon,
… great plugin. I like to work with it.
When I use combined categories in various short-codes, these are collected by comma and by an OR database operation. I have categorized lots of downloads with several tags and would like to use and AND database operation to build selection. Is there a setting to use short-codes configurations in this way ? (i.e category=”category-slug1 AND category-slug2″ to show packages which own both categories slug 1 and 2, instead of a collection of all slug 1 and 2 packages) . Would extend the plugin to a really mighty tool.
Best regards, M
Hi
I have bought your plugin and read all the documentation, however I am still struggling with a few things.
1. I have linked my page http://www.mbizana.gov.za/download/resources/ to Dropbox. In dropbox I have created a main folder with sub folders with files in. How do I get my page to display the folders, as there is going to be many folders and files uploaded by the client via dropbox and I can’t go and add each one individually. Users should be able to browse within one window between different folders.
2. How do I get the Download link away and replace it with a View link that will view the documents in an embedded viewer. Downloads should not be allowed.
Please help me as soon as you can.
Thanks.
I have been using WPDM for a few weeks with no problems. I use a custom link template that shows a small preview of the image being downloaded. However, this evening I added another download. After I added the download I checked my downloads page and the preview images are no longer there. Only the name of the file is present. I have no idea what I could have done to change this. I am attaching a picture of my download link to show you what I am getting. You have to click on the link to be taken to the page where you can see the image that you are downloading. Please help!
Thanks!!
Yesterday, I renewed my DMpro. After uploading the program into my website, I tried to activate the program and received the following fatal error. I tried to upload the wpdm-core.php file several times, but I still cannot see in the dm directory. No one can download from my site, and I would appreciate your help to resolve this issue as soon as possible. I have attached a screenshot of one of the page errors, where just the category shortcut is now showing on the page instead of the list of downloads.
