I have a website that was built on WordPress and we used download manager to manage the downloads of documents on the website. But now we migrated our website to another hosting platform, but after this switch we can see all our packages but the documents in the packages are no longer downloadable. We are getting an error “saying file not found”. How can this be resolved as we need those documents

Hello Rudi Samyn,
Sorry for the delay. For your issue of no subcategories menu in the sidebar, please adjust the access option from the edit category as I image attached, and for the no downloads issue, please add init=1
in your shortcode parameter,

Thus, I hope all of your issues will be resolved. BTW, I have also adjusted for this from some of your categories and the outreach page. please check and let me know.
Thank you and regards
ok thanks
I’m going to do it manually better since I need to reset hundreds of users every day
There is no way to reset bulk downloads from wp-admin/users.php of only selected users
please check now, the download page can be navigated with this https://www.vielleacustica.it/il-mio-account/my-downloads/. I have adjusted by unsetting the menus from your active theme functions.php
with the below code,
add_filter('wpdm_user_dashboard_menu','wpdm_custom_dashboard_menus',10,1);
// $menu_items is an array containing current menu items
function wpdm_custom_dashboard_menus($menu_items){
unset($menu_items['']);
unset($menu_items['download-history']);
//Adding new menu item using callback function
return $menu_items;
}
please check and let me know, if it works for you.
Thank you and regards
This page, https://www.vielleacustica.it/il-mio-account/, I think you are using this shortcode, [wpdm_user_profile]
. Here in downloads section lists all packages downloads which are created by the user. Are you facing with this issue? Please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
Hello there.
My business scenario is this (I think it is quite common):
A user in our website fills an evaluation (like a personality test for example) and we produce a PDF with his results. We would like to add the PDF to our website’s downloads and customize access (Custom Access Control) so that only that specific user can access it. This will show the PDF report in this person’s download list (which we call his Locker).
We already create the PDF and send it via email to the user. We can also add it as a website download manually, but now we have tons of users and we need to find a way to upload the PDF and configure the access via some automation. For that we need webhooks or something similar.
Is there a way to do this with current WPDM and/or add-ons?
We use WPFusion in case this can help. They now offer WPDM integration: https://wpfusion.com/documentation/other/download-manager/
Here is the discussion in WPFusion on using WPDM versus other download managers for this feature: https://wpfusion.com/feature-requests/integration-with-wp-download-manager-or-similar/
We also have Uncanny Automator but it only has triggers for WPDM (when someone downloads a file), no actions (add file to user): https://automatorplugin.com/integration/wp-download-manager/
This shortcode [wpdm_user_profile]
downloads section lists all packages downloads which are created by the user. It means lists all packages by an author. And if you are trying to get a page dedicated to the user with the list of all the downloads that have been assigned to him, you can do with Advanced Access Control addon and this shortcode
[wpdm_user_dashboard] – User Dashboard Short-code
Thus you will get this section from User Dashboard, https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=my-downloads
please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
On the single download page it works but on the general page my account doesn’t check “No downloads found!”, what I’m trying to get is a page dedicated to the user with the list of all the downloads that have been assigned to him and consequently the possibility of downloading them.

Hi,
In the user dashboard there is a “Download History” section, but no “Upload History” or “My Uploads” section. Please could you add this to the plugin? A user should have a way to see all the files he has added/uploaded to the site.
Greetings, I cannot find any setting where I can designate my custom templates to be the “default” used whenever I upload a new downloadable asset.
I have several users who frequently upload new things my site visitors can download, but getting them to remember to go into that asset and scroll all the way to the bottom to choose our custom Page and Link templates is frustrating, it should be simple to create a setting that uses our custom templates as the default, and then we can scroll and choose a different template IF the asset needs it (they don’t, we prefer our custom templates for ALL downloads).
Please consider adding a Setting to select the default templates in an upcoming (soon hopefully!) update, thank you.
I have 5 archive pages displaying downloadpackages from one particular category. All pages have similar code which hasn’t been changed:
[wpdm_archive category = "wetenschap" button_style="primary" template = "5c9d1f2a22515" order_by="title" order="ASC" items_per_page=12 cols=3 colspad=2 colsphone=1]
After recent updates, some pages are still looking OK, others don’t. One page shows no subcategories menu and no downloads (although the downloads and subcategories still exist). Another page does show the subcategories menu but only a few subcategories are displayed.
I have tested the pages also with the ‘link-template-default-ext’-template, but the results are the same.
Hope to hear from you.
You may try the Duplicate option from theDownloads > All Packages
section as I image attached,

please check and let me know, if it helps you.
Thank you and regards
WEll no that’s a bad thing, as that means in the main Downloads page that is for everyone to view Newsletters, those assigned to Health ad Safety are only viewable buy one person.
But I think I may know the answer.
Packages – when you upload multiple files to Packages, does the user see that Package as a list of downloads to view?
If yes, in theory that can be called Wallmart – Deliveries.
Am I right?
I think what you are showing there is downloads for ALL users, as the All Newsletters area.
I am talking about the downloads we assign to a Member only.
So CEO of Wallmart wants to see all HIS downloads.
But then he wants to see only his downloads for Delivery PDFs.
Can we do that?

Nayeem
I’m so sorry, but I still dont’ understand.
Are you saying, that right now, there is no means to allow us to assign Downloads to a category?
So let’s say Wallmart used your plugin. And they had these PDF docs.
But they needed to see them for their Staff, and then for Store, and then for Deliveries.
Is there no way at all, that we can let the Member login to their dashboard, and filter, to just see the PDF docs for Deliveries???
When the user goes to their dashboard, yes, I would like them to be able to view all their downloads, but then to clikc the Categories assigned. IE if they have a Farm, and 5 Downlaods are assigned to the Farm category, they can see only the downloads to Farm.
I accept Farm would be used by more than one Package or user, but THEIR downloads assigned to Farm, shoudl then be seen.
Make sense?
Hi Tahasin,
We have seen that you have changed the “_” by “-” in the short code definition; now there is the following: “[wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=10]“. This does not match with the documentation, but it works.
Nevertheless, it seems to us that it is the only operational short code, as we did not manage to have the “category filtering” as we had before.
1-.How to get the filtering on the categories, as your (wonderful) plugin was previously able to do ?
2-.We have checked and there is no more login restriction: I mean that the downloads are available even if a user is not logged in.
Thank you very much for your reply !
I can see all users are in the list.
May I please ask the purpose of having both Roles and Members?
Surely if you can assign to Roles, then all users in that roles list, would be assigned. Else you have to assign Role AND Members, which seems duplication.
Is it not possible to assign it solely to Role, so you can assign members to that role, and they automcailly get access to the downloads?
Hello Todd Dixon,
Hope you are well. Somehow your topic was marked as spam. I have approved it now. However, you will be able to restrict any downloads by any WordPress role from the Downloads > All Packages > Navigate Any Package Edit Option > Package Settings > Allow Access
option as I image attached.

And if you are trying to restrict download packages with specific users, you can use this add-on, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-access-control/. With this will help you to control user-specific access to your files and document downloads. You can check this option too for showing contents conditionally from the Downloads > Settings > General > Access Settings > When user is not allowed to download > Hide Everything
option as I image attached,

please check and let me know, if you need anything help more.
Thank you and regards
Ok yes I get that.
Create a New Package.
Call it something.
Assign to Member Role.
Uplaod bulk files.
May I Ask, in the Downloads section for that user (viewing as a Member Role), do they see all files. IE. If it is for Health and Safety, do they click the Health and SAfety Package, and then view all their downloads?
Is it kind of treated like a CAtegory to the company?
Very smart if “yes”…..
I have checked your issue. I have found that this plugin is not active on your side, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpdm-premium-packages/, because, the option image I have attached is not available on your Downloads > Settings
interface.

However, for your more information with File Cart add-on lock option doesn’t work, because, the file cart bypasses all lock options for the download. It is also described here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-file-cart/. The doc you have shared https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/using-premium-package/enabling-terms-agreement-checkbox-on-checkout-page/ is for premium packages, those packages are enabled with pricing. It will not work with the file cart as expected. Sorry for the confusion. I hope you have got it now. please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
No. We can create a user within WP as standard.
But ideally wish we could create a Role, assign the user to the role, and assign the Downloads to that Role.
So you have multiple users for one company.
The Company is the Role.
Docs assigned to company.
Do you know a simple way to do that? Since your plugin already assigns to Roles, do you know a free way to create multiple roles???

Hello 79DESIGN,
Hope you are well. If you are using only the WPDM PRO plugin, you will be able to restrict any downloads by any WordPress role from the Downloads > All Packages > Navigate Any Package Edit Option > Package Settings > Allow Access
option. And if you are trying to restrict download packages with specific users, you can use this add-on, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-access-control/. With this will help you to control user-specific access to your files and document downloads. The next reply here may come tomorrow, because, I am going offline. Please let me know if you have any other queries.
Thank you again and regards
