Yes, you can easily remove the link from package title.
Clone the link template you are using ( looks like a Call To Action template ) from Downloads Templates page. Then replace the following part,
<a href="[page_url]">[title]</a>
with just [title]
and save it.
Then use this custom link template in your shortcode.
Your active theme is creating the issue by removing jquery-form
and jquery-ui
scripts. I am not sure why it doing that. You can ask the theme support about this. For now, I have added those scripts manually in /tpls/author-dashboard.php
file to fix the error.

Actual featured image is stored in /wp-content/uploads/
directory. A reference to the image is inserted in the wp_posts
