We shall add block IP option soon. For now you can block those ips from hosting control panel and to block hot link you can use this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-block-hotlink/

in your installation, it is showing 404 error for any URL with task parameter, which could be a interference from another plugin, may I try disabling other plugin temporarily?

  1. Post status is publish always
  2. Bulk import doesn’t support feature image yet, but we have another add-on for advanced csv import http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-csv-importer/ with field mapping feature
  3. you can specify category slug separated by comma in category short-code. Doc: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/#category and wpdm tree doc: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-extended-short-codes/
  4. WPDM category pages are actually come from your active theme, usually it is index.php or archive.php or taxonomy-wpdmcategory.php

CSV import with template id working fine for me, may you trying importing in your site?

Need administrator access, btw, from the url http://extranet.herbert.co.uk/frontend/, what I see is, you didn’t allow any user role to access front-end UI from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Frontend Tab .

You also need to create all those dirs/categories from Admin Menu Downloads Categories
