The WPDM category page is displayed by the taxonomy-wpdmcategroy.php / taxonomy.php / archive.php template of your theme. If none of these available then the theme uses the index.php template. In your case, I think it is archive.php

Now to use a separate page header for download category archive, you have to change the title from archive.php. Or make a copy of archive.php and rename it taxonomy-wpdmcategroy.php. Then change the page header from this new template. This keeps the archive page header unaffected in other post type archives.

Do you want to hide packages that the user can’t access? It is possible in Pro version. In Pro , there is an option to “Hide Everything” when user doesn’t have access to the package.

In the free version, you can use a custom template fro /download-manager/tpls/wpdm-all-downloads.php and add some code customization there to hide restricted packages https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/template-files/

The add-on copies the file from the remote server and then serves it to the user. When it is done it deletes the local file. We will improve the auto-import feature in the next release of the add-on.

1 ) Clone ” Single Column, Image Top, Extended” page template from Downloads > Templates > Page Template Tab.
2 ) Replace [file_list_extended_3x64x64] with [file_list_extended_400x300x3] in your new custom template. The number represent width, height, and columns. You can change those if you want.
3 ) Set you new page template as active Page Template from the package settings meta box.

You just have to enable password lock from package settings meta box. And as you already have Pro version attach as many files as you want in a single package. After password submission, all attached files will be downloaded but you can choose which files to download.

For selective download, we have the File Cart add-on ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-file-cart/ ) but it doesn’t use password lock.

1 ) Deactivate and delete the old version. You won’t lose any data.

Requires Pro version. You can use file list extended in Download Manager Pro version to display attached image thumb.

You have to add the custom code to your active theme or child theme’s functions.php file. Or You can create a custom plugin.

Direct download will always be faster because the download is handled on HTTP server level which doesn’t involve the PHP.
