Yes, I use bulk import for most, but not all. Plus, if any changes were made on admin side to post title/description/taxonomies, I wouldn’t have that info. So, I can’t depend on my original CSV to have correct data.
We have 1000s of files and they are commonly grouped by 100s of files with similar descriptions/taxonomies, etc. So our main need for the export is to make bulk updates to these groups of files (descriptions, categories, tags, files, and file titles).
As long as the new export CSV feature produces a CSV with similar headings as the sample.csv, I think it will do exactly what I need EXCEPT that the current sample.CSV does not include tags. Any chance in adding “tags” to the sample.CSV import?
Also, I replied in a different correspondence hoping to add custom post type taxonomies somehow to the import/export. If not, the 3rd party plugins will do just fine.
Thanks again! I’ve used several other digital delivery/manager plugins over the past decade. I’m super impressed with your add-ons, flexibility of templates, and willingness to update for our needs.
Are you saying WPDM has its own export feature now? I haven’t been able to find it.
In WP, I see a way to export by XML, but since we are importing via CSV, that’s not much help to me. So I’ve tried a couple of different export plugins, but like I said (and you confirmed) they do not export the data the same way that the sample.csv imports it. So things like file, filelist, access aren’t easily export/import without manipulating the data line by line.
I successfully uploaded a file from one of my other sites via URL but it gives an error in the PDF viewer. I can download the file, but not preview it.
