This is an ongoing issue from a previous one…figured some history might be helpful. It is kind of frustrating customer service to take a day to let me know I should open a new thread rather than help, especially when the issue is pretty urgent and affecting my customers’ experience. I’ll open a new thread, thanks.

Hey, so there are new issues that have developed from this original issue. I used to be able to preview .docx and .pptx files, but they are now displaying as “File not found” when I use either the Single Column with Doc Preview template or using the [doc_preview] tag. These did work previously, so I’m not sure what has changed. I’ve made sure my plugin is up to date.

Additionally, all audio players are not working either. I tested all of these things extensively without issue weeks ago and now they all don’t work. Don’t know if something occurred in a recent update to break them?

We just released our brand new site to our clients last week and so many things are not viewing correctly. We really need this fixed ASAP because it is a very bad first experience on something that we knew was fine prior to its release.

Wonderful, thank you! Is there a way I can turn off/on capabilities within that? I see now that the Stats page is visible, but I don’t necessarily want authors or editors to be able to access capabilities like the add-ons, asset manager, import/export, etc. that are now also visible.

So I have discovered the issue is in the file name…the extension must be “.ppx” not “.ppt” and “.docx” not “.doc” in order to correctly preview. Putting that out here in case anybody else is running across this problem! Thanks for the help!

I’m also experiencing the bulk import telling me it identified and successfully imported all of my files via the CSV, but when I look at my downloads, any file title that has an apostrophe, em dash or en dash. These characters worked previously.

So, I initially gave a lot of potential options that I am looking for that would solve my issue. Can you speak specifically to which of these options this combination of add-ons would accomplish? I’m not seeing anything in my reading about them that gives me assurance that they would either:

  1. Create sorting functionality by expiration in the list view of all packages
  2. Notify a specific administrator that a file is approaching expiration
  3. Automatically turn the download into a draft following expiration

I need to know with certainty that I can receive a report or sort my downloads to know which ones are expired or about to expire and these add-ons are not making that clear. They also don’t say that I can get a refund if they don’t accomplish what I’m looking for, so I need to know going in how specifically the add-ons will accomplish my needs.

Before I purchase additional add-ons, do you have documentation or screenshots that can provide a visual to show how these add-ons will mitigate my particular issue? Just in reading about them, I’m having a little trouble seeing that they will accomplish what I’m looking for, so I’m just looking for extra confirmation in how that will work since I don’t want to buy something I cannot get a refund on if it doesn’t fulfill the purposes needed.

Unfortunately that solution won’t solve the issue as I will not be able to manually keep a Top Downloads category up to date. I’ll have to find another solution, but if I can propose a feature, adding the order_by functionality to the Carousel shortcode would be amazing since it would solve this dynamically.

Nayeem, can you please follow-up with me on the progress of this request? I’m going to be bulk importing thousands of downloads into my site over the coming weeks and need to have this issue resolved. If you can let me know when it is, it would be greatly appreciated.

From the same server. I’m uploading the image to the media gallery of the same site that I am bulk importing into and just linking to that image so it knows what to pull. Does it need to be a link from a different source?

Cool, got the templates working. BUT, the preview images are still duplicating. I put my file in the media gallery before bulk importing and just grabbed the absolute image path and put that in my CSV, but it doesn’t seem to be linking from that file, it actually re-uploads that image to the media gallery the number of times that I have it in the spreadsheet. Is there a different way I need to be doing this?
