Thanks for the clarification on #1.
For #2, I have the billing address box unchecked, but the shipping address is still showing up in the actual PayPal checkout process.
I have included two screenshots for comparison in the link below:
https://pasteboard.co/JaCDLY1.png
The image on the left of that screenshot is the WPDM paypal checkout process.
The image on the right is from a completely different shopping cart plugin that I have for selling my eBook products.
You will notice that only the WPDM paypal screenshot has a “Ship To” address. The one on the right does not have a “Ship To” address, which shows that it is possible to set things up with Paypal integration such that PayPal does not ask for a Ship To address when ordering a digital product.
Can you guys update the WPDM PayPal integration so that PayPal does not ask for a Ship To address?
Thanks
Hello. I just tested it out, but it did not fix the issue. Whatever you did caused the Membership Download Button to no longer work anymore. I now receive a “You do not have permission to download this file” message when I try to download a file (even though the member has permission to download the file):

Please advise.
Hello. I am just following up to check on the status of this.
I’m not sure if it is something that you guys need to adjust in the Download Limit plugin or something that you need to adjust in my custom Membership Download Button plugin, but I would like to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Hi, I am just following up to check on the status of this. Please advise. Thanks.
Thanks. The screenshots were helpful. The download limit is counting the downloads when I click on your test package, but not on my test packages.
I think I know why it is not working on my packages. The packages that I have been testing are packages that are using the following custom plugin that you guys developed for me:
WPDM – Membership Download Button
Transforms Premium Package’s Add to Cart button to Download button based on user role.
Version 1.0.0 | By WordPress Download Manager Customization Team
That custom button is no longer tracking downloads with the download limit. Can you please fix that custom plugin for me, so that the downloads done with that special download button are still tracked through the download limit plugin?
Thanks
Thanks for updating that plugin, but the issue is still occurring (download limit plugin no longer works properly). In fact, I don’t even use the pro membership plugin to manage my member roles (I have a different membership plugin that handles this), so I am not quite sure why the pro membership plugin would have any affect on whether the download limit plugin is working. Either way, I just tried again with having the WP Pro Membership plugin enabled and then also tried with it disabled and both cases had the same result.
Can you please post a private screencast where it shows that it is working fine for you on my site? I really need to get this issue resolved ASAP.
I am not sure if I understand you response.
As a reminder, I do not have any limits assigned for guests (https://pasteboard.co/J5AWjpr.png). However, when a guest goes to download their “purchased” item (purchased with Premium Packages plugin), it is saying that they have exceeded their download limit. That is a big problem, since this means we cannot use the Premium Packages plugin while the Download Limit plugin is enabled. I previously demonstrated the problem here on your demo site as well: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cYftoZAM8z
I should also mention that the solution for me will not be to just assign a large number like 9999 to guests because we have other membership roles that have unique download limits assigned to them in which those users would also be purchasing individual items through the Premium Package plugin (i.e., special items that are not included in their membership).
For example, Basic members can download 5 items per month under their membership. However, if a Basic member decides to purchase a particular item through the Premium Package plugin, that item that is purchased should not be counted towards their download limit.
Basically, items that are purchased through the Premium Packages plugin should be excluded from counting towards the download limit (as stated here: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/allow-paid-purchases-after-download-limit-reached/#post-114810).
I never had this problem in the past, so it seems to be caused from something that was recently updated in the plugin over the last several weeks. Please advise.
Hello. I am just following up to see if you have been able to look into why this problem is still occurring in the latest release of the download limit add-on. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thanks.
Hi Shahjada,
Thanks. I updated the download limit plugin to the latest version and the problem still persists. I also tried clearing my cache and the result is still the same. Please advise.
Thanks
Thanks. I tried that and the issue remains. I also tried clearing the cache, but it did not resolve the issue. Please advise.
I also just did a test on your demo site and I am having the same problem with the download limit plugin affecting downloads from orders. Please watch this video from your demo site: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cYftoZAM8z
Thank you.
Hi Shahjada. Thank you for the assistance.
1) I cleared the cache and tried again and it still isn’t taking me to the proper download page. It is still taking me to the page that I had referenced before (please note that the page it is taking me to is a private page that is not configured anywhere within my Download Manager settings). The download page worked fine prior to me upgrading to version 4.4.5 of Premium Package.
2) In addition, my original reason for this post was because it was not displaying the product name in PayPal properly (it was showing {{PRODUCT_NAME}}). However, after having upgraded to version 4.4.5 of Premium Package (which was supposed to resolve this product name issue) it now doesn’t even display anything for the product name: https://pasteboard.co/J4xQmSP.png
Please advise on how both of these issues can be resolved.
Thanks. So is clicking “refresh” considered a new session? What exactly do you guys define as being the “same session” versus a “new session”?
I would assume that a new session is clearing my cache and then reloading the same browser window or opening up a different web browser (i.e., opening up Edge instead of Chrome) or accessing from a different device.
I would not consider clicking refresh in the same browser window to be considered as a new session. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. However, I just want to make sure you understand the issue.
I just went to your demo site (not my site) and created a quick recording that demonstrates the issue:
https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cYfZqGAa7Z
You will see that I click the download button once and click refresh. After doing that the download button is still there. However, if I go to click that same download button again (during the same session), it then counts it as an additional download and then the message comes up saying I have exceeded my downloads.
As you can see, the issue is not a problem with my site. It is a problem with the download limit addon, since this is occurring on your demo site.
Please advise.
I understand that, but what I am reporting is that it IS NOT being counted as as single session. It is being counted as multiple downloads as if it is 5 different sessions.
If I click the same download button 5 times in a single session, it should only count as 1 download, but it is counting as 5 downloads.
Please test it for yourself on your own test site and you will see the issue I am referring to.
Hi Shafayet – I am just following up on my last message, since it’s been 5 days without a reply from anyone. Please advise.
Hi I am just following up on this issue. Please advise as soon as possible.
Please note that this issue is not limited just to my site. Just do the following steps on your demo site:
1) Change download limit to 5 downloads for the user role.
2) Go to a download button for a product and click the same download button 5 times in a row, and then click refresh. You will see that you have used up all of your available downloads.
This is clearly a bug that needs to be fixed. Please advise on the status of the fix.
Thanks.
Hi Shafayet. I am just following up on this issue. Please advise. Thanks.
I am also following up on this ticket from several weeks ago. Please advise.
