I have an existing installation with “Download Manager Free” and wanna upgrade to “Download Manager Pro” – does this affect my existing installation? Could i use the existing packages under an update to “Download Manager Pro”?
yes, you can upgrade. You can use the existing packages with pro too.
Hi
I have purchased the pro version. I understand from this thread it is possible to upgrade but is there a post on “how to” do this successfully? thanks
- Download latest version of WordPress Download Manager Pro from same location in orders page.
- Unzip the package
- Upload files to /wp-content/plugins/download-manager/ using ftp
- login to wp admin
- deactivate download manager
- re-activate download manager
- Download and install copy to pro add-on from here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/
- Go to wp-admin Downloads Settings Copy to premium tab, and you will see the list of files you create with free version, check all copy
- and done!
What exactly will the licensing feature allow? Would I be allowed to put an expiration date on a license? Can I create a trial? Can I create a subscription license? Is a unique product key created every time a user purchases a file?
“Would I be allowed to put an expiration date on a license” – yes
“Can I create a trial” – yes, it same as creating a key for certain period
“unique product key created every time a user purchases a file” – yes.
How do “Upload files to /wp-content/plugins/download-manager/ using ftp”?
Total non-techie here, thanks!
@jeannelking, no need of ftp any more:
- Delete free version
- then follow the steps here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/installing-wordpress-download-manager-pro/
- Now if you need to import files from free to pro, Download and install copy to pro add-on from here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/
- Go to wp-admin Downloads Settings Copy to premium tab, and you will see the list of files you create with free version, check all copy
- and done!
Hello,
the page https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/ can not be found anymore (404 Error).
How can I copy files from free to pro? How is the name of the Add-on and where can I find it.?
Thanks
