Hello, I am a newbie in WordPress (and not a coder) and when in need of a download manager, your product came out as one of the bests (if not “the” best) available.
I have also installed the Gutenberg blocks to easily include WPDM inside contents.
Unfortunately something fails to work, so please let me post here some questions.

1) If I enter the shortcode [wpdm_tree] nothing shows up on the page. I just get exactly [wpdm_tree] written as text. What can be wrong?
If I enter other WPDM shortcodes, they work just fine.

2) I tried to use the Gutenberg block named “Categories” and then I was invited to select the categories from the sidebar, but once chosen, a message appears (sorry I don’t know the exact translation) “An error occurred during the block loading. A critical error occurred to you website.” plus a reference to WordPress debugging. Is there maybe one or more common cause for this error?

3) I love the categories page included in the Directory Add-on so I would like to get it as it is exactly what I need for my website, but I am not sure if this Add-on is available for purchase only for the PRO version of WPDM, or it can be purchased and used also for the free version of the plugin.
In case I can purchase it, I am also a bit concerned about if it could work, considering the above issues 1 and 2.

The plugin version 3.0.97, WP version is 5.4.2.

For #1, [wpdm_tree] shortcode needs this add on for working, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-extended-short-codes/, have you installed that?

For #2, It maybe updates conflict or needs to make update for it. also can be happened adjustments of settings, it has to be checked from your site

For #3, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/ directory add on also works in the free version too.

Thanks for your kind reply.

Regarding #1: I did not have it installed, now I have, but activation fails with:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '::' (T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM) in /... ..../wp-content/plugins/wpdm-extended-shortcodes/wpdm-extended-shortcodes.php on line 357

Reg. #2: I will try to find out. Maybe it is also an old PHP version running (5.X) I have just realized.

Reg. 3#: Thanks, I have purchased and loaded it, but could not get that wanted specific page loaded on my website, where it appears like a grey-unformatted section. Wondering if it has to do with #1 or #2. Just to know, what is the exact shortcode behind the demo page?

Hi,
The latest version 3.1.01 is backward php version ( 5.6 ) compatible now. Please update your copy.

Thank you very much Shahjada, waiting for the chance to upgrade to a new version of php, the directory add-on seems to work almost at 100% now and it correctly pick the cateogories.

Only, I still cannot find the proper options to get a categories filter in the header, both using the shortcodes or gutemberg blocks.
I have not figured out yet if this page comes out directly from a block configuration or needs template editing https://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/archive-page-compact/.

Thank you again Shahjada, now I have the page I want.
Only, its style is a little bit different referring to the fields in header, than the one I reported on the link.
Does this depend by css editing neeeded, or missing tags in the short-codes?
Can it depend by my theme intead of by the WPDM default theme?

Hi,
Yes it can. But in that case, you may need to tweek some css code.
