Hi

I was testing this from your demo site.
maybe i understood it wrongly but when i add the File Password as below screenshot.
https://prnt.sc/FNAxpR65PpV5

and when I share the file download link to anohter visitor.
https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com?wpdmdl=49785&ind=1652239714530

I was expecting that he/she will be prompted to key in the password and be able to download the file.
but the screen says that you are allowed to download.. not popup or nothing else..

Is my understanding correct? if not, can you educate me on how file download link and file password should be working?

Thank you

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the issue. I think you have misunderstood the feature.
Direct download button will not work for another visitor as it has security reasons.
Visitor has to input password when he will click the download button and if someone wants to share download link, he has to share the download package link like http://localhost.com/downloads/testmovie/

If you use list downloads using shortcodes, then you have to input password before clicking download too.
I hope you have understand.

Thanks

Hi Tanvir,

Thank you for the explanation.

I see that there are 2 passwords protection features.

1. Just next to the file path https://prnt.sc/FNAxpR65PpV5
2. another one under ‘Lock options > Enalbe password lock’

I am little confused with these 2 features.

What will happen if I set ‘ABCDEF’ for 1st password (#1 case above) and ‘12345’ for Lock options (#2 case above)?
Can you help the list out the flow what would the user experience with this kind setup?

Appreciate that.

Thank you

Hello Rohan,
Please follow Lock Options doc and Attached files password doc for more details.

So basically the main difference is that you can lock whole package using the lock options and you can select different passwords for different attached files using the attached files password option.

Thanks

Thank you for the info, Tanvir.

Yes, now I get it.
Out of curiosity, what if I set a package that contains only 1 file with following way?

package password is 12345
file password is ABCDE

in that case, the user needs to enter both passwords ? or package password will overtake file password?

Thank you.

Hello @Futureyoon,
Glad to see you again.
In that case, package password will be applicable and single files password will be overridden. So if you download a package after providing a password, all files will be downloaded of that package in a zip file.
Thanks
