I have all the same issues. I didn’t change domains. I put the license in and it said success but failed as the error and then it didn’t appear to be successful. Many things do not work I do not know if it is because of the license issue.
When trying to view a product link I get 404 error. And I am unable to download plugins says forbidden.
This is a internal website not public facing.
Please let me know what I need to do to correct the issue.

WPDM seem to get into conflict with my theme.
I can not get [download_link], and email protection, to work in my templates.Do you have any idea on how to get this sorted and working?

We have a WP Network site for the schools in our district using the Academica theme by WPZOOM (Version 2.0.3). Version 2.7 of WPDM doesn’t work very well at all with this theme. The latest version published on wordpress.org works. I had to remove the “Breadcrumbs” functionality completely from the theme to get it even partly working, but it still has issues. I suspect most of the problems need to be addressed in the theme, but I figured I’d post here to see if you had any insight. I set up a demo site, a clean install with the latest WP, Academica theme, and WPDM here:

Issues:
– Breadcrumbs break downloads
– I think this has to do with the theme not handling the custom post type
– All pages under /download have a “Download” and “Close” link below the page footer
– On the live site, all downloads are “Access Denied”, even as admin. Haven’t replicated this with demo site yet.

I have a 1 GB file that I have FTP’ed to my server (to get around WP 2MB restrictions). This works fine. I can download the file via FTP without issue. When I tried to link to the file in your plugin (original WP available version), it would say that the ZIP file was 0.00 Kb, and only download the name at 0.00 KB. I then updated to V 2.7, to see if this would fix anything and it seems to have gotten worse. Now I am getting this message : “Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for /home/techm11/public_html/live-grain/site/client-files/LIVEGRAIN_V2.zip in /home/techm11/public_html/live-grain/site/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/tpls/metaboxes/attach-file.php on line 10

Topic: Upgrade to 2.70 – issues
Hello,
From a previous thread i was advised to installed the latest version, I had to deactivate the original plugin to get the new one to work and also download all my files and re-add them.
trying to setup my download page as it was before but having a few issues that i wonder if you could assist with?
– In the old version i was able to list the files to download and clicking them downloaded them, now i get a download box with files size and a download link, can this be customised? cant see any option to disable/enable these options?
– also in the old version i was able to get a category shortcode to drop into a page to give me the list that i mentioned above but i cant see shortcode and at the moment it looks like im having to add each download to a page.
If you can help with the above it would be much appreciated as i am looking to purchase the full version, but these issues are put the purchase on hold along with the slow level of support which i presume would be more responsive in the paid version?

The template page from the download manager shows this ID link-template-bsthumnail for the link template I would like to use.

Following the link works fine. But if you try to click the download button from the main page (gotdedupe.com/documents) the popup on the download button doesn’t work there. I don’t want my users to be forced to click the link into the actual download page.

Instead of having the link redirect you to a separate page that shows “Version, Category, Size, Created, etc.” How do I have it so that once I click the file name it downloads the file immediately?

You don’t have permission to access /vdwpmain/wp-admin/ on this server.– When you try to download a manual it should give a details page and option to download. This is no longer working.

Yes, it works properly when you open it in browser (Chrome and Mozilla). But if you choose to save it and after try to open in PDF Reader – file is corrupted. Also i found that size of file is different before download to site and after download from link, so i think script is adding something to file, but i don’t know where i can fix it.

The problem i have is I haven’t on my archive page 3 or 4 cols. All is like you frontend demo archive page except the number of cols.
For me i have only one cols, I want have 4 cols on my page.Could you give us the exactly code we need enter on our wordpress page to have exactly you page demo above.

I have been successfully using Download Manager for some time now and never had any issues.
However its been brought to my attention that the down load links are not working. the page is http://culchethhigh.org.uk/the-eagle-newsletter/ when a link is clicked it returns to the homepage.
If i log into my wordpress as admin the links work, but the settings show that the links are set for public access.
There are other pages on the site that use Download manager and as a school we need the access to the documents, this has come at a time when i was planning to purchase a full version for a new site.
Any help with the above would be much appreciated.

In wpdm-extended-shortcodes.php it looks like I’ll have to modify the links on lines 199 and 233 (and possibly on 415).
To retrieve the current link both 199 and 233 are using:
<?php echo get_permalink($file->ID); ?>I have a few questions:
1. It looks like I would need to replace get_permalink with a function call but I’m not sure which one… Would it be: “wpdm_download_file()”, “DownloadLink()”, “wpdm_ddl_button()”, “wpdm_getlink()”, “wpdm_get_download_link()”, or “wpdm_package_link()”?
2. If I use one of those functions what parameters would I feed to it in order to retrieve the right data?
3. Also, does the wpdm-extended-shortcodes.php file need any special includes in order to access those functions?

That is great, I can use that function.
However I still want the ability to let users download directly from the site, the function should work like a “tell a friend” function.
Is there any way I can use the e-mail lock function, but instead of email lock the link, user can still download from the site?Example template:
Download Title Send to you e-mail (email lock funnction) Download (direct download link)

LarsHi! Thank you for the great plugin. However, I’ve been having trouble with the download feature.
When I try to download from the download page, such as this one:The browser attempts to open the file as a text file instead, so it shows up as a super long page of meaningless text until it crashes the browser sometimes. And this is not just happening to the Chrome browser in my computer. But also any other browser used in any other computer.
EDIT: I also tried disabling all the other plugins in my site, but its still the same. However, the file downloads properly in IE, when I check the encoding of the download link, it says its a text/html content type.
Everything else is working perfectly.
Would you please help me with this?
Also, I tried purchasing the Pro version, but somehow paypal rejected the transaction. Do you have any other payment methods available?
