We’re creating new WordPress sites entirely in SSL and if I log into the WP admin interface on such SSL sites, Download Manager inserts HTML that isn’t “SSL-safe”, causing mixed content warnings. Here’s what happens:
* Download Manager Pro plugin installed and active on SSL site.
* The main admin interface page has this HTML inserted by Download Manager that causes a mixed content warning (yes, it does say “wpdmvarsion”!):

so it could have been prefixed with // instead of http://.* If you load in the iframe URL, this has further issues in its HTML:

This http:// link prevents any attempt to workaround the mixed content warning issue (e.g. with mod_substitute, WordPress for HTTPS etc.).
It should of course start with ‘//fonts.googleapis.com/…It would be nice if these two simple (and near-identical) fixes were added to the next Download Manager release.
Topic: PDF won´t open properly
Hi! I have problems opening PDF files. They opened as text files. See attached links. The same file opens correctly when it is handled in the media library. Try the attached links. The documents are created from the Swedish version of Microsoft Office. You’ll probably find what is wrong so I ask you to help me to correct this.

- Dropbox add-on doesn’t work in that way, using dropbox add-on you can attach files with package from dropbox
- If user can view a file, you can’t block them from download using any script, because it is actually already downloaded when they are viewing. However if you want to go to view page when user click on download link, check “Open In Browser” option from download manager settings.

To just login protection:
- Remove “All Visitors” from Access field under package settings metabox
- Select user roles, those you want to allow access
- And publish your package
- Now if user is not logged in, you will see login message with link instead of download link
- After login, if the user is in selected roles, he will be able to download the item
- Otherwise, he will not Access not allowed message.

we are using the shortcode:

Is it possible to remove some of the filterable options? We only would like to have “Publish date” and “Download Count” that we would like to rename into “Popularity”. Do you know how to achieve this?
Is it also possible to tag files and show these tags in the database and the search function?

I have bought your plugin and read all the documentation, however I am still struggling with a few things.
1. I have linked my page http://www.mbizana.gov.za/download/resources/ to Dropbox. In dropbox I have created a main folder with sub folders with files in. How do I get my page to display the folders, as there is going to be many folders and files uploaded by the client via dropbox and I can’t go and add each one individually. Users should be able to browse within one window between different folders.
2. How do I get the Download link away and replace it with a View link that will view the documents in an embedded viewer. Downloads should not be allowed.
Please help me as soon as you can.

Hi, button seems to select, and settings seem to save, but they are not applied.
Please try and apply a different download link template or a different page template, and you’ll see for yourself. I cannot get the functions to work.
Topic: Preview Image Missing
I have been using WPDM for a few weeks with no problems. I use a custom link template that shows a small preview of the image being downloaded. However, this evening I added another download. After I added the download I checked my downloads page and the preview images are no longer there. Only the name of the file is present. I have no idea what I could have done to change this. I am attaching a picture of my download link to show you what I am getting. You have to click on the link to be taken to the page where you can see the image that you are downloading. Please help!

Topic: WPM_File missing
I updated the WP Download Manager plugin. My short links changed, though, which completely changed how they viewed on the website page. The short codes for these links use to be [wpdm_file id=”x”]. I researched this issue wiht Download manager, saw that tinymce was now an add-on which we installed then. However, no where were we able to see where there is a short code that was a wpdm_file . We have [wpdm_package id="xxx"] short code, and this look on the public site is completely different than the previous short code. How can we get back to the wpdm_file short code, and that corresponding visual look of that short code on the public site?

Topic: Symbolic Link Not Working
I would like to refresh the files available to subscribers each day with updated values. So, I have a symbolic link under the wp-content directory to a directory that mirrors an FTP site each day. The files download from the interface are from the original time that I set up the package. I can’t figure out where wp download pro is pulling the files from. Any thoughts?

We purchased the wpdownload pro, accordion and default values to work a certain way. We needed the accordion style and want to use a certain template we created. More or less, when you expand the category with accordion, we want a direct link to the download.
So..When I click on an accordion category to expand it is not using the template we set using your default values plugin.
Please tell me you did make these two plugins works with each other. I can’t imagine you didn’t.

Topic: Access Denied
I am having issues downloading files after switching to a new theme. I can download files from the widget but not from any posts or pages on my blog. I receive a “Access Denied ” message in place of the “download” link whenever I attempt a download. Everything worked great on the old theme so I believe it is an issue with the theme somehow.

Where can i get a list of accepted values to use in the .csv import tool.
for example i have tried many ways to get “tags” imported as well as link page and link template, no matter what i put in these fields in the CSV file they do NOT import to the download.

How can i do to just have the PDF icon instead of this not “Download” text?
PS: In the options of the plugin says Link/Buttom but when you select it it only shows the link, not the icon.
Also if you chose other templates you can’t change the language of words like “Download” and many others.Should be an option to edit them, even in the free version.

Hi Shaon, thanks for your response. But I think I didnt explained well.
By default, the MP3 template has the title of the download as a link to the page template. What I want is the same (having the title as a link) but to a direct download. In the code you gave me, the title is not a link and a “download” word appears beneath the title.
I only want to have the title of my download as the link to the download. Not an extra “download” word appearing.
¿Is that possible?

Don’t need to refresh page, user will not be able to download the items when limit is expired if though they see download link. However there was a minor issue with this feature but we have fixed it and update is coming soon.

#2. Clone the link template your are using there now, replace[page_link]with[popup_link]and save as a new template
#3. Use the new template now for popup link
