If I enable the option ‘Open in Browser’ it seems to work, but if there is a multi-file package, it automatically downloads and opens up the zip file when the page loads. Every page load also counts as a download, which isn’t ideal.

Do you have any other solutions? Why is the preview not working by default? No one else has experienced this issue?

When I add in the iframe code to my page template, it just automatically downloads the file when the page loads.

    Hello,

I’m using User Role Editor plugin to create several user roles. For some roles, I want to remove the “Downloads” link in the WP dashboard so that they cannot access the settings.

Inside the “Settings” tab of WPDM, I have played with the front end settings, specifically the “File Browser Access” field,

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/j523wtytz7n1sdy/Screenshot%202016-04-28%2013.52.18.png?dl=0

Regardless of what’s in this field, all users with dashboard access also have access to the “Downloads” section. How can I remove it?

    Thanks.

I am using a custom link template that is very basic and I enabled single file downloads. all I want to do is have the DOWNLOAD link to say OPEN instead of Download. I tried to all OPEN NOW to the link label and it is not working. the below is my simple file list link template

<!– WPDM Link Template: FILE LIST DISPLAY –>
    <div class=”panel panel-default”>
    <div class=”panel-heading”><b>Download</b></div>
    [file_list]
    </div>

Thank you when can I expect this update ? In this time the plugin is useless for me.

I would like to download premium packages from post, if you are normal user you can buy it by cart, but if you are membership subscriber you can download this from the same post. Now you can make it when you setup discount 100% for eg. Admin.

Please add something like new user group for allow to download ,,membership users” or something

Downloads from https://graphictwister.com/membership-downloadarea/ for my user is impossible. ( I don’t would like to add acces to this page, this page is without any images and discriptions.) This page is also now not working… ou can’t download any package.

I have installed download manager and successfully uploaded a sample post with a pdf file. I have checked the setting to try to open the file in the browser before downloading. The file opens as garbage, but downloads fine. Any idea how to fix the ability to view in browser?

I have WPDM – Custom Access Level enabled.
    1) I made a Category named “Temporary” and set access only to Administrator only.
    2) I made a “Test File” package, set “Allow Access” to Administrator only & set it to the “Temporary” category that I made.
    3) I edited the main Downloads page to add the category:
    [wpdm_category id="eq-temporary" operator="in" title="Temporary" desc="Temporary files are here" toolbar="0" order_by="field_name" order="asc" item_per_page="15" template="5716afdad2d76" cols=1 colspad=2 colsphone=1]

The “Test file” package shows up on the sidebar.
The Temporary category shows up on the Downloads page.
Users not logged in can enter the Temporary category, although they are presented with a Login/Register box, but I have registrations turned off.

I assumed doing this method would automatically “hide” category/packages from public view if they do not have access to it.
For security purposes, I do not want people to even try and access files they should not be.
I am sure there are situations where you want them to show to “tease” users, but that is not what I need to do here.
I have files I am ready to upload that are for myself only that I want to archive or give special access to a select few people.

    Thanks.

So I finally found out what plugin was messing with the downloads.
Because of WP Super Cache I couldn’t download files anymore. Its disabled now.
DO you know if there are settings in that addon which mess with the download manager?
I’d like to enable it again.

We have been using your product for ~3-4 months and overall really like it. But we do not understand the Stats section. The numbers are very low, where we know many products/files have been dowloaded. After some troubleshooting, it appears that only full package downloads are being tracked, but not individual files within a package. (On most of our packages, we have “Allow Single File Download” option set to true since that’s that nature of our file delivery scheme)

Where are individual file download stats?

    Thank you.

I have been trying to update from 4.5 to 4.5.5 for a while now. I go to downloads – settings – updates.

I see a list of products I have bought. First confusing thing. I do not see “update” I see “install”. I don’t want to install… I want to update. Very confusing. Should it say update? Do I have this set up wrong? My license is confirmed.

I could never figure out how to update. So finally I just click “Install”. After a moment it says “success”.

So expect to see the latest version. But no… i go to plugins and it tells me I need to update it.

Finally, I go to my FTP and do it that way. But if I have to update this plugin via FTP everytime… well… I can’t tell you how disappointing that would be.

I contacted theme.co and there is no way of making it work, so I am now having to use the Yoast SEO plugin as you suggested.
I have it installed but unsure the setting for it to make the category show correctly.
I added the code in the PHP as directed by Yoast and went to “Advanced” and enabled the Breadcrumb.
I am looking at the section for “Taxonomy to show in breadcrumbs for post types” and there are 3 different dropdowns there for Posts, Downloads, Portfolio (none, tag, category, format). I have tried all of them and all I get is a navigation (ie: Home EverQuest Default Old) list above the main post.

    Hi
I am running WordPress 4.4 on Nginx and have installed the following plugins:
    Download Manager version 4.5.4
WPDM – Archive Page version 2.8.1

I have added the following to a page to display documents by category:
    [wpdm-archive button_style=”default” Items_per_page=”2″ category=”category-slug” order_by=”field-name” order=”asc|desc”]

The categories display on the page but a Loading button/image is displayed beneath them with no documents displayed. I eventually get a 504 gateway timeout error.

The following error is logged in the nginx log:

Hi, I am trying to search the downloads using keywords that fall in a specific date range but, unfortunately, I could not find a way to do this. Could you please tell me how can I achieve it?

    Thanks.

When you lock a download using email lock, all collected email through lock are listed as your subscribers to notify them about the package later. You can check on WPDM addons , which provides options for users to be a subscriber.

On my new download packages I add, I get an error code on the individual package pages. The error code is: page-template-1col-ex-autdio.php

On previous downloads files I’ve added, the page works correctly. On our archive page of all downloads, I have no problem actually downloading the items; the problem occurs when you click on the document title to view specific info on the individual package.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you!

I made a blank page for Archive and set it in the WPDM settings to point to that page.
I understand that overall, the main theme is what power’s that page but I would like to know how to set the download files to be tagged as an archive file and which are not? Right now WPDM is listing all of the downloads as an archive item.

I would like these user roles to edit packages from the back end, not the front end. These users have dashboard access, but the “Downloads” menu is different for them than for admins. They don’t see “Categories” for example. And when they click on “all packages”, they can see the packages listed, but they cannot click the title to edit. Again, they are in the back end, not front end.

How can I allow other users to edit packages from the back end without making them administrators?

There seems to be an issue on the Dashboard for the recommended downloads. There is this tiny thing where I would assume a preview of the file would be but its messed up? All I have on a page via code is [wpdm_user_dashboard]
    See attachment.
