Hi guys,
we have bought the pro version of WPDM and we have some trouble.
We cannot hide complete categories or groups of downloads depending on the user that is logged in.If we try to hide categories depending on the user group they will still be shown in the frontend even if we login with a user that is not allowed to see this category.
Can anyone you help us out?

I had an unrealistic large downloads spike yesterday and my hosting company suspended my website because of CPU overusage.
I run foodiesfeed.com and provide there food pictures free to download to anyone. Usually I got around 2 or 3k downloads a day.
However, yesterday and during todays night I had got 100k downloads together even though the traffic was usual which is 950 unique visitors.
Can you please help me to find out what may cause such huge downloads spike? The Siteground customer service told me to disable the plugin logging IP adresses into database. Is that possible?
Also, is it possible to block other people downloading from my website then those who are currently browsing it? So pirates can’t right click the download link, copy it and provide it somewher else other than on my website.
I’m quite misserable.

What kind of difficulty prevents you to implement the working LinkedIn lock functionality?
As said, please check the example: http://www.scalatalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=53 where you see a LinkedIn share button and it works.
Why cannot be implemented that mechanism here?You said already 4 times that this will finally work in the next version… Still doesn’t… 🙁
Anyhow the number of downloads is not increasing as well… And I am on the latest version of download manager as well as appshop theme.
Possible to help me?

On our archive page, (and in the widget ‘most downloaded’ and ‘latest downloads’) I’d like the ‘download’ button to actually take people to the file page rather than act as a direct link to the file itself. How can I change this?

Topic: UPGRADE BROKE TEMPLATES
Hi
I updated to the latest version of WP Download Manager today and it broke an existing custom template. Previously I had [download_link] as a link on the file icon but it now shows two textual links instead of the one intended and has a code leak after the icon “>. (see attachment 1)
For now I’ve replaced the link on the icon to “#” but it would be good if you could have a look and see if I could re-instate the link on the icon so that my templates would look how I want them. (see attachment 2) The template was as follows:-

If that’s all that has gone wrong on the upgrade I can live with it but it would be helpful if you could rectify it as I use this on two sites. It is probably an easy fix.

So i have a problem when using my theme.
All my downloads look like blog posts. ( with comments etc )
With the old version of download manager i was able to change the template file being used but now i can’t anymore and im wondering how i can change this. 🙂-edit
I did figure it out for Cart page but still not for the normal download page.Thank you in advance

- I want a single page listing all of the downloads.
- The page should ask for a password, email address, and name. Once it has that information, anything on the page should be allowed to be downloaded.
- The email address needs to be added to a list, possibly in Mailchimp or aweber
- I’d really like the email address to be added to a list which sends out a nag message once a week that they need to review the books they downloaded.
- PDF stamp should be added to each download with the name and the word “Confidential review copy” stamped
- For EACH download they ask for, an email needs to be sent to them with the URL of the download, the URL of the amazon page for the book, and instructions. The nag messages should do the same.
Can this product do this?

Topic: Page Not Found Error
I have a new installation of WPDM and this is the first time I have used it. I may be doing something wrong but even if I just use the defaults and upload a single pdf file, I can’t get it to display the page. I am getting a 404 error: Page Not Found Error.
If I add the shortcode ie [wpdm_package id='12345'] in a page I know works, then I do get a link. It works, downloads instantly and the counter works but all the rest of the functionality like email lock etc, does not function
My version of WordPress is 4.3.0 and I am using the Canvas theme.
I would appreciate any help you could give me.
In a pre-sale question I specifically asked if the WordPress download manager plugin could allow visitors to a website that was utilizing this plugin if the visitor could download multiple documents at once. Basically designating what documents they’d want to download and then click “download” or something similar and have them all download at once, saving the website visitor time and effort. I was told this function was available with your plugin. Please explain in DETAIL how to make this function work with your plugin. we have been doing a lot of trial and error with your plugin, and the support and documentation is very limited, and have yet to figure out how this feature works in your plugin as you had promised it was capable of.
It is months later after i asked to put language strings for words in directory addon – and those still not working. What’s the point of having those, if they are not working?
It’s really inconvenient to modify php/js files everytime after update.
Please, fix this asap.
btw. same goes for strings in downloads list, there’s no effect after translating “order by”, “asc”, “desc” strings – it’s really supposed to be fixed with latest release, which was promised months ago.
