How can the files be set to download automatically without getting out of the page to a download page? I tried upgrading to version 4 and i could not find my way around since support team was not available… I need to know how to do these things and which files I have to change to get my downloads work without taking me to another download page
yes we would also like to get a notification when someone downloads (even a bcc of the email they get would be helpful) otherwise I have to constantly log into the website and look to see who is newly signed up — if their email address could automatically be added to a mailchimp list that would be fabulous!

I have installed the latest Download Manager Pro and WPDM Image Button.
But there is no Button Tab in admin menu Downloads Settings.
Only Basic & License Tabs in there.
The Image button shows up after the apache restart.
I tried to download the plug in from the home page link and I think I messed up because it was the older free version. I then downloaded the Pro version from my Downloads and then installed that.
But the reinstall of the older version seemed to lose all my packages. Funny thing is, the items are still in the data base in the _ahm_files table. Can you help me to get them back in the package manager and back on the web site?
Hi,
Thanks for your interest.
1) if you purchase only pro with $45, you can see the list of free add-ons here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/add-ons/ to use with wpdm pro. other add-ons need to purchase individually and all add-ons ($75) as a pack. we also have a special with where we included pro and some add-on here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wordpress-download-manager-special-pack/ for $74.
2) yes, after 1 year if you don’t want to get new updated and support, you don’t have to renew you can continue using what you have for life time :), It will not revert to free. payments/renew fee is just for updates and support.
Thanks
Trying to upgrade to v4, and I’m having problems with templates.
It appears many of the styles are missing from the inbuilt templates, for instance row-fluid, span9
Below Is the call for action 2 template: most of the meeting classes are not defined.
[page_link] [file_size] [download_count] downloads
[excerpt_80]
[download_link]
After being told 3.3.8 is no longer supported, I thought I would have another go and looking at 4, on our development server… What a disaster.
Primarily we only use wpdm_category short code, to list downloads using a custom link template and then a custom page template.
I followed the upgrade notes in the thread at the top of this forum.
1. Only the top it appears in the categories interface only the top level categories are listed after the migration, subcategories are not listed.
2. The categories contents i.e. the packages associated to the categories have all been lost, So it appears I have to edit every package to reallocate them to the appropriate categories.
4. The link templates need to be reapplied.
5. The all link templates styling has all been lost / different from 3.3.8
6. Our custom link templates no longer display correctly.
Basically it appears the Style in version 4 is completely different to 3.3.8, I see at a class style w3eden everywhere where as in the past it was wpdm-pro
Is there a quick way to reinstate the old styling?.
I see the following error:

which means zlib is not installed or not working properly, please contact your server/hosting support to check zlib or reinstall zlib.
# no such option for [wpdm_my_downloads]
# hide everything is for package details page and when you are using category short-code. the [wpdm-all-packages] will block only package download link.
Hi Shaon,
Did you have a moment to take a look at my problem?
The client really wants to add more docs and thats not possible now.
I also tried if it would work with all other plug-ins, including WPML, turned off but I still get empty downloads.
I am looking forward for your answer.
Cheers,
Ariane
all downloads short-code will not show everything else properly except facebook lock option, as fb like button sometimes failed to load in popover, but there is nothing to do with wpdm pro. for facebook locked package need to go to package details page to download. Again many thousands of users using wpdm pro without any frustration. so in your case it can’t be my fault. anyhow I’ve already replying each of your query in quickest possible time.
I’m trying to make a list like THIS: http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/all-downloads/
I’ve used the “all packages” shortcode and the list comes up, but none of the “lock” options are working. Two days into this and I’m ready to fight for my money back…unless I can get this working.
A product should not come with hours of frustration.
For some reason the download pop-overs are not loading on my site any more – all was fine a couple of weeks ago, and as far as I know nothing has changed. I am running v3.3.5 (haven’t upgraded as I don’t want to break the site).

I am running the same version of the plugin on another version of this site with no problems at all (professionals.itsajungle.co.uk)
[wpdm_my_downloads] don’t take category as parameter.
if you want to show specific categoy you need to use [wpdm-all-packages category="category-slug"]
Ok I have bought the add-on.
I am using [wpdm_my_downloads] but can I set a category to show only not all docs?
Thanks
🙂 sorry I missed, I directly typed here.
Thanks for the reply, you forgot the closing bracket but I added it in and it works perfectly!
wpdm_download_url(array('ID'►get_the_ID()))
replace the_permalink
with wpdm_download_url(array('ID'►get_the_ID())
Try it again. I have enabled the Facebook share lock and it doesn’t work. I also can’t seem to figure out how you created the “All Downloads” link on your page. That is what I”m looking for.

I am having similar issues
My Site
As you can see, neither of these work.
[wpdm-archive]
[wpdm-archive link_template=”link-template-default” button_style=”success” items_per_page=9]
only this works
[wpdm-all-packages]
I am trying to show “archive page style 1”.
Any suggestions?
You will check also issues 2 &3 ?
2) Download counter is not counting individual downloads
3) when i place shortcode [wpdm-archive button_style=”default”] on my themes homepage ( Sahifa WordPress Theme http://themes.tielabs.com/?theme=sahifa ) it displays only the categories and filtering is not working . It works only on a page only with shortcode. On theme i put the code on a placemark for ads. That pacemark if it has a lot of content it itso getting bigger but it will not do the same with shortcodes javascript (maybe some conflict ) see images

page like this http://crscranesystems.com/downloads/manuals/ actually will depend on your theme. Looks like your theme skipping custom taxonomy query.
I have some issues :
1) Download file has 0b size
2) Download counter is not counting individual downloads
3) when i place shortcode [wpdm-archive button_style=”default”] on my themes homepage ( Sahifa WordPress Theme http://themes.tielabs.com/?theme=sahifa ) it displays only the categories and filtering is not working . It works only on a page only with shortcode. On theme i put the code on a placemark for ads.
