Additionally to my comments above I just discovered two more bugs with this block.

Tags don’t work like I would expect in this block:

1. If you put in the Tag Column the links that appear of the tag don’t actually link anywhere, but if you are on a package details page they work as expected so something in your block is breaking or removing the tag links.

2. If you use the all downloads table block and try to query filter by a tag nothing happens. No content is displayed. I tried with the slug and the tag title.

I have resolved the issue myself.

The staging site has been deleted because I don’t need it anymore. I’m sorry you never got access and I can’t explain that. What I can tell you is that you can easily duplicate the issue yourself with a local install or installwp install of WordPress. The steps are easy.
1. By whatever means you like create a default WordPress Site
2. Install Download Manager Pro and WPDM-BLocks plugins
3. Create a few empty packages so you have something to display
4. create a page or post and drop in the “All downloads table” block. Do nothing else.
5. Publish the page/post and view it. Nothing will be displayed.

The cause is simple once you figure it out. The block requires you to put in columns and it requires the download button column to be added. While this is not a bug it is really bad UX. In my opinion this block should default with the post title and the download button columns instead of an empty column. I suspect putting in a default post title and download button columns would be pretty easy and I encourage you to do that the next time you update the plugin. I mentioned a few other issues with the plugin in my last post.

Please stop trying to access the staging area it doesn’t exist anymore. If you want to test this more please use the steps above. I have followed them three times and got the same result each time before I tried it on a live site to verify it wasn’t a licensing issue preventing the plugin from working correctly.

If you have follow up questions or I can help further please let me know. Otherwise I am going to consider the matter closed and hope you push out an update soon for this and the other issues I found. I’m going to go back to building websites now.

I figured out the problem. Your default all downloads block doesn’t have any working columns so it displays empty and shows nothing.

I would encourage you to have default columns of at least post title and download button so your block works out of the box.

Additionally, the columns section doesn’t like having two columns with titles next to them. One gets deleted. you have to put them in between columns with no title for them to stay. After a save and reload of the block editor you can add another or move them next to each other. You might want to look into that.

Finally thought, why can’t I edit an existing column and give it a title. Why do I have to delete it and put it back in?

Thank you for your assistance. I have attempted to install the WordPress PDF Viewer add-on by navigating to Dashboard > Downloads > Settings > Updates and installing the wpdm-pdf-viewer.zip file. However, despite these efforts, the add-on continues to appear as uninstalled.

Prior to the recent update, the WordPress PDF Viewer was installed and functioning correctly. We are unable to identify the cause of this issue.

Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this matter?

We’re pretty sure users never used to be able to download our files, so are a little confused and trying to think back.

As the plugin is all about protecting downloads, it seems there should be an option to handle this by default without having to ask for custom coding…

I’ve checked, and the webhook is in place. I’ve also installed the Advanced Sales Report—will this report include past orders, or only data moving forward?

Additionally, I’ve noticed that the “Subscribers in Downloads” section doesn’t seem to match the actual subscriber data in members. Does this mean the report isn’t applicable?

Currently, members can download everything rather than following a pay-per-download model. We’re looking for a better way to track member subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations. Any suggestions?

Hello, will it be in an update of WPDownloadManager or a update of Download Limit plugin? And how will I know when a update is available? Because for me the new updates that are available don’t seem to show in my plugins section of wp-admin.

Can you give me a rough I idea of when this update will be? In 1 day or in 1 week?

As I am sure you imagine, with this currently not working, I have many users emailing complaining about their downloads not resetting each day, for which they have paid for as part of their subscription.

So its something that I would ideally like to get sorted today or ASAP.

I wanted to send an update and post in public in case others have the same problem.
Basically, we need file downloads to open in a new tab in order to prevent the page reload issue we have (still unsure why this happens).
But, using our page builders module “Page links to” -> “Custom URL” prevents names from being recorded.

I looked in the settings for download manager and saw it has a native/in built toggle to open files in a new tab. I activated this, and changed all of our files so the “Page links to” module is set to “It’s a normal WordPress URL”.

So far we are seeing positive results and names are being recorded. Continuing to monitor but hopefully this is all working correctly now.

Now my problem is that when I don’t put any parameter… therefore I just ask to show all.. It keeps loading forever, although I have just 50 downloads.

Thank you, and I hope you’ll seriously consider – at the very least – adding support for native Post Tags…..this is a must, after all why on earth would a webmaster NOT want the ability to associate content with downloads using the simplest native solution (Post Tags) when many other plugins (such as ‘related content’ type of plugins) use exactly that method? It’s what Post Tags are best for. It’s so frustrating that I have to keep hacking every update to add back in the ability to associated my downloads with my content using the Post Tags.
