Ok. So right now, there is absolutely no way for a client to login, and search for THEIR downloads, based on the Description, within the WP DL Manager plugin.

Only via the title of the package.
Just so we are clear. As I was originally told otherwise.

Sure, but the Search shortcode you provided – if we use that, and give it to anyone, they can access ALL USERS downloads.

Can you please add it to our Downloads page, so I can see what you mean, as you do have access.
    As I am confused.

I know about the Allow Access option. But what do I put in there, so it allows access to all who are logged in?

Hi sorry can you please elaborate.
If you edit the page for downloads, you can see what code we have in there.
Are you saying that Shortcode can be tweaked so it CAN search in the Description – which is what I was told it could do in your livechat?

And secondly, Within the Allow Access – are you saying there is no way right now with our paid account, to enable it so all who are logged in, can view certain Docs. IE. if the team wanted to make one Doc available to all clients – no way to do that?

I was told on the Livechat on here, that because we cannot search for File Names, we can simply put those file names in the Description, so users can search for it.

You are now saying, this is NOT possible. So if a client contacts them to say “I need that document called xxx, where do I find it”, they have no way to search for the file name, or any keyword. And if a Package has more than one file, it is totally impossible search for that filename.

That being said, if they are logged in, does the Default Search (top right of any page) let that search result find it? But NOT in the main Downloads screen?

It’s just so all over the place. And one doesn’t find out these things til we are using it.
No way to search for Filename.
And if that filename is listed in the Description, the Search in the Downloads screen, does not allow you to find the keyword added to the description.

    Oh boy.
Also, with regard to being able to enable a set file to be available in downloads to any logged in user – sorry we need to pay to be able to do that? Really?

For now, User Dashboard > My Downloads section search option shall not work with keyword of package description, however, you can also keep a feature request here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/forum/download-manager-pro-feature-request/. And for bulk apply to Allow Access option for package settings to your all packages you can check this add-on, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-default-values/. please kindly check and let me know, if you have more queries.

    Thank you and regards

Disregard our site’s main search please. That should not be showing any results from the Download Manager at all (tho it doesn’t matter, so long as it doesn’t show results NOW assigned to that user. That’s a security risk.

This is the search in the WP Download Manager Downloads area.

Please go to Downloads > Templates section, then you can clone the Call to Action 4 template , from template edit option and then editor remove [download_count] template tag, then save the template and use this template in your package settings. I hope you have understood now. Please check and let me know.

    Thank you and regards

You will get which template you are using for your packages from your Downloads > All Packages > Any package Edit option > Package Settings > Link/ Page Template option. Please kindly check and let me know, if you have any issue.

    Hello,

You have set all pdf to one folder and attach to the package. I will suggest you, please create new folder/folders for your PDFs, you can also categorized PDFs by folder naming, then attach as dir the folder to the package, thus I hope solve one of your issue. And enabling single file download not whole files, you may customize it by creating/cloning a template from Downloads > Templates section , then remove the main download template tag, keep only the [file_list] template, please kindly check the process and let me know, if it resolves your issue.

    Thank you and regards

    Hi
We have found out you can’t search by the file name, only the Package name or apparently the Description.
So our client has added a description with some specific terms.
But when you search in the Downloads screen for that word, nothing comes up. And the package is available to all.

We know the Site Search can do it, but we need the Download Manager search to do it, and we were told it can.

Second question: if we want a package to be available to all who are logged in (not just “all visitors”), how do we apply that to the package?

    Thanks.

Glad to hear that, the plugin is working fine 🤗

We have made a few changes, especially in the namespaces:WPDM\__\Message, WPDM\__\DownloadStats and few functions.

If you find my assistance valuable, I would greatly appreciate your support with a 5-star review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/download-manager/reviews/?rate=5#new-post , it will inspire us a lot.

    Thank you 🤗

No, it works, the countdown shows 24 hours but it restarts every 48 hours, it would really take the downloads to restart every 24 hours

You are not using Downloads > Categories > Single Category, you are using [wpdm_all_packages] shortcode, you can customize the shortcode appearance following this doc, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_all_packages-list-all-downloads-in-tabular-format-in-a-page/. You can use cols="title" instead of cols="page_link". Please kindly check and let me know.

    Thank you and regards

I went now to Downloads>Settings>License and pressed Save Settings. But still I do not have an option to “update” on the Plugins panel: It still tells me that my license has expired!

At the same time I really wonder why my paid initial license is not any more recognized. Normally I should not have to pay the license twice and still not get it working; this is at least my humble expectation – normally…

It really looks to me like things are pretty much messed up, with two versions being installed in parallel, somehow competing with each other so none of them can work properly!

    Hello Cornelis Bockemühl,

Hope you are well. Thanks for writing to us. I think your other issues have been resolved without Advanced Access Control add-on update.

For updating the WPDM PRO plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins panel.

For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads -> Settings -> License, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated,

For updating WPDM add-ons, please download your plugin from here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases,
And update manually from the wp-admin dashboard Plugins > Add New option. I hope, thus it will resolve your issue. For the Download > Settings > Updates option will not work properly for some server settings. please check and let me know, if you have any queries.

    Thank you and regards

Hi, thanks for your quick reply!
Yes indeed, I am talking about Downloads > Categories > View Of a Single Category. So after choosing a category, there are all the download packages of this category. Hope that helps
    Kind Regards

    Hi!
On our page every download package has a thumbnail image and the packages are categorized from 1-22. When choosing a download in detail the display of the thumbnail is okay but the thumbnail also is displayed when using the categories. Since there are a lot, by clicking on a category all thubmnails of all downloads are loading and this is too much for our server. My question is how to avoid that thumbnails are displayed in the categories/lists?
    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am currently using the WordPress Download Manager plugin on my website and I’m encountering an issue with organizing my downloads. Specifically, I want to ensure that the most recent uploads are displayed first, but I am not able to achieve this.

    Details:

    WordPress Version:https://wordpress.org/support/wordpress-version/version-6-5-4/
    Download Manager Version:
    Theme: sahifa
    Shortcode/Template Used: “wpdm_all_packages order_by=”date” order=”DESC”
    Steps Taken:
Ensured the plugin is updated to the latest version.
    Used the [wpdm_all_packages order_by="date" order="DESC"] shortcode.
Checked plugin settings for sorting options.
Attempted to create a custom template but was unsuccessful.
Despite these efforts, the downloads are not being sorted by the most recent uploads. Could you please provide guidance on how to achieve this? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

    Best regards,

Is there an easy way to export all downloads and WPDM settings from one site to another? I used WP All Export before but it wasn’t perfect and didn’t export the settings.
