Good to hear you got it working. I noticed some of the add-ons don’t work properly for example the speed add-on that restricts users speed. Been having issues with this for a while now. It comes down to if you can fix it yourself, because otherwise your kinda screwed.
I think I figured out the solution. The 404 could be caused by the fact that my wordpress core files are in a subdirectory ‘/site/’. The plugin file is calling ‘site_url()’ which returns something like ‘mysite.com/site’. When I replaced ‘site_url()’ with ‘get_bloginfo(‘url’)’, it works like a charm.
By the way, in looking at the plugin code, I feel a little cheated having paid $6 for literally 8 lines of code…. This functionality should be included in wpdmpro, I think, not charged for as an addon… It’s hardly an addon and doesn’t even work for people whose sites are stored in subdirectories without modifying it manually…
My two cents.
I don’t think you need to activate it once you buy it. How have you been adding your downloads with FTP or a public url download address. I currently have mines setup by FTP and its working with the Block Hotlink.
powerongrfx, thank you. I purchased the Block Hotlink addon and installed it. Now, clicking the download links from my site is throwing a 404 error. Only when Block Hotlink is active though. As soon as I disable it, the download links work.
Is there an activation process I need to do, besides activating this addon plugin?

have just purchased and installed WPDM – Archive Page
I added the Search Widget to a sidebar and created a search page with the shortcode [wpdm-search-result] as requested.
Search queries only return a page with [wpdm-search-result] in the content.
Please advise asap as this is a $22 addon to an already “premium” theme.

I use the above plugin with [wpdm-archive] shortcode in a page. The problem is that not all categories are shown(6 instead of 7) and when I click on a category it says no downloads found despite the fact that there are downloads in the category.

I just installed Pro 3.3.7. When I add a new package, I see a “Custom package url” of:

However, on my live site “wordpress” is added to the URL:
http://www.carlsonsw.com/wordpress/download/underground-mining-2014-box-image-jpg
How can I fix this? Wasn’t an issues with the free version.

Hi Shaon, can you elaborate please on how to use the image url with the template tag (i.e. so Button Add-On is no longer needed) — where exactly does the template tag go?
Side note, you should remove the Button Add-on from the Extras page on your menu. Bad form to have it listed it (obviously you don’t sell it) if it’s not needed. It just creates confusion.

I have a few issues in no particular order …
– I’ve no idea where this goes [wpdm_archive] and have tried several ways I thought it should all to no avail.
– I’ve set the icons I want to use in the individual categories but they are being overwritten by what ever icon was selected in each package.
– In the URL I gave above what do I need to change to always have the newest file at the top.i.e. in Bulletins current May 26 2013 is at the top and the latest one for 2 June 2013 is last. Whereas I want the 2 June 2013 to be displayed at the top with 26 May the next one down.
– I got and installed the free add-on for the extended shortcodes. However what I see when I go to Settings, Short Codes is a whole page of broken images? If I go with FTP to check the directory it either doesn’t exist or it is empty. This I think is a path issue.
All for now but I may have more.down the road, thank you.
did you mean adding category in menu, if yes, you have to add category url as custom link
#4 i figured out myself later too,
about #2 – i tried few fancybox plugins(including yours), but they just don’t want to work on my WP installation, maybe my template causing problems – i’m not sure, but any lightbox plugin works just fine, but for some reason, those LB plugins does not recognize those preview images in template view as normal images(already tried various options) – if you have any alternative then please tell me.

you don’t have to use image button add-on anymore. as you can use image url directly with template tag, for example [download_link image-url-here]
