So I finally found out what plugin was messing with the downloads.
Because of WP Super Cache I couldn’t download files anymore. Its disabled now.
DO you know if there are settings in that addon which mess with the download manager?
I’d like to enable it again.

Yes that was my question. I deleted the plugin, then reinstalled the new version.
No problems what so ever! Thanks for the quick reply!

I’ve got kind of the same question.
Is there a way to update the plugin without affecting the old uploads?
