Ok, thank you. I look forward to your resolution.
Our test results indicate that the download fails at around 1,1 GB, if the average network speed is lower than 10 MB/s.
Could it be that PHP or something else is setting some restrictions on the download? For example, in terms of memory usage or allowed connection time. If so, can these be adjusted or bypassed completely?
Yes, that is the challenge and this we have tested already. The problems start when the network speed is below 10 MB/s. Unfortunately limited speed seems to be the case for many of our customers. That’s why downloading should also work with limited speed.
Yes, they are all 1,611.13 MB.
I decreased the chunk size from 4194304 KB to 2097152 KB and tested again with four simultaneous downloads.
The first file was successfully downloaded in 2 minutes and 5 seconds and the second in 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
The last two files were interrupted after 3 minutes 5 seconds (about 1 GB downloaded).
Currently our chunk size is set to 4194304 KB. Can it be that it is too big for low network speeds?
I tested again with four simultaneous downloads.
The first file was successfully downloaded in 2 minutes and 3 seconds and the second in 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
The last two files were interrupted after 2 minutes 57 seconds and 3 minutes 2 seconds (about 1 GB downloaded).
I tested with four simultaneous file downloads.
The first two downloaded normally in two minutes and fifteen seconds.
The other two files stopped downloading at three minutes and twenty seconds.
The download still stops after about 1 GB for some customers. For example one reported download time before interruption was 7 mins and 16 secs with 1 GB downloaded. It seems that most of the downloads are interrupted when about 1 GB is downloaded.
Did you change any other settings than the download speed?
That is strange. They do work for me without problems.
Please try again and let me know if you succeeded or not.
Ok, currently the download speed is set to 409600, but the problem still persists. The downloads seem to interrupt when about 1 GB is downloaded.
I found another discussion about similar problem and tried modifying also all the other download settings as suggested in the thread (https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/downloads-stalling-and-failing-to-complete/). Unfortunately this didn’t help.
So should I enter for example, “4096 * 2500” to the download speed field?
If I leave the download speed field blank, does it mean full speed is enabled?
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
The download speed is set to 1000000 KB/s. Both Resumable downloads and Output buffering are enabled.
I cleared the cache couple of times just to be sure and did couple of tests.
Unfortunately the result is the same: the problem with the variables persist and the same applies to admin email which receives every email, even if it is not on the mailing list.
Thanks for the update.
I quite a lot of testing and unfortunately the problems have not gone away.
The email variables still have the same problems. Also the admin email receives every email, even if it is not on the mailing list. If an email is sent only to the admin email, the admin will receive two emails.
Thank you for the update.
Problem solved. Thanks a lot!
Yes, that is what I am using.
I have tested both with the default values for “From name”, “From email” and “Email subject” as well as with empty fields without the default values. It seems like the default values are not used in the sent email.
