Unlocked. To update, please download latest version from download area, delete old version from your site and install new. The process will not harm old data.
They are all in language file, you can to create your own language file from wpdmpro.po to change/translate those text in your language, however please check here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/download-manager-language-files/ if it is already available.

You can customize email template from Admin Menu Downloads Subscribers Email Template tab
it should be used it wpdm settings, for the option “login required message”.
I’ll add a template tag for this with the next update of membership plugin.
You won’t have to apply role based discount for membership users.

The process will not hide category name, but it will hide package, you need to select hide everything option when user doesn’t have access, from wpdm settings page.

WPDM can’t be the reason for logout, you need to contact with your server support.
