If you set some specific roles for “Allow Access” field and remove “All Visitors”, then only assigned roles will be able to download the item. When user is not logged-in wpdm will ask for login to download the item.
Allow Access field was empty, you have to select “All Visitors” or assign some role there to allow download.

Sorry for your trouble, it is ok now, I missed something while I was updating file manager add-on.
Doc preview is actually working fine in generic ( http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/download/blossom/ ), but strange now working in your installation only, however I tried to test again but login info is not working.
So such option with wpdm, however role editor may have that feature, you need to disable access to custom post type “wpdmpro”.

But you also may change link label from package settings while editing/creating a package.
It is happening for js conflict with other plugin, I need to check it disabling other plugins temporarily, may I do that? Also, activate plugin editor.
wp regular search function will totally depend on your theme, if you want to search downloads, please use the search widget with wpdm pro.
I looks like some JavaScript conflict with your theme, need to test it applying another theme temporarily.
