Thanks for the speedy reply, that seems to have fixed it. What does Toolbar Grid Assignment do? I’m guessing that one of our editors accidentally changed this without meaning to.

Hello!

Issue 1 (Package block) is now resolved! Nice work!

Issue 2 (Default values) is still present. I haven’t removed your login access to staging if you want to have another look. To re-clarify, when the block is added the default value is correct in the drop down, but the design that renders is not from that default value – a different template loads. To make it work you have to select another template from the dropdown list, and then select the ‘default’ again (which defeats the point of using the default values plugin).

I would be very grateful if you could have another look. Thank you for your help and support so far, really impressed with this plugin!

Re: Package block – I disabled all third party browser extensions (deleted from Chrome) and I still have the issue. (When I fall back 5.4 version it does work so would like to understand what has changed that is now causing an issue). Any more ideas?

Re: Default values – I agree with you that the first text item in the list is correctly set and matches the Default Value settings, but if you look closely at the video you’ll see that the design that renders first is not from that template. The text is correct, but the actual design is from a different template. To make it work you have to select another template from the list, and then select the default again which defeats the point of using the default values plugin. Please could you look into this further.

Hello,

I just tried in Safari and you are right that the Package drop downs are working there. It definitely isn’t working in Chrome even when privacy plugins are disabled! Will send you a private screen recording so that you can see what I mean.

I have now put the WPDM – Default Values add-on back on (I had temporarily removed it when testing to see if it was linked to the issue).

Please note we don’t promote changes from staging to live, so if you do fix it please communicate the steps for me to apply to our production environment (also beneficial for anyone else experiencing this issue!).

So just to clarify, 5.4.1 is a legitimate update? If so why isn’t it mentioned on https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/wordpress-download-manager-change-log/

The stats count definitely includes bots – we’ve had the same challenge on our website.

If you have access to your WordPress database, the following SQL command will give you a count of the user agents and should help you spot bot downloads:

Hope that helps! We’ve had good success using Cloudflare to limit bot downloading.

Thanks for the quick reply, will look into setting up a captcha lock.

I have made the feature request here: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/improvements-to-the-stats-area/. Hope someone can work on it soon! Fingers crossed.
