Hi,
These are bugs, because the wpdm_all_packages shortcode used to work correctly for pagination and package count.
The performance changes (or some other recent changes) broke the functionality.
It doesn’t matter if the code has better performance if the functionality is broken and the end user experience is not good.
Please fix these issues in wpdm_all_packages.
Or provide a solution for restoring the functionality that worked correctly for years.
Thank you!
Hi,
What are the latest updates from the team on when these bugs will be fixed?
Thank you!
Hi,
The package count and the pagination need to work correctly based on the records that the user actually sees (based on their access level).
For example, if there are 2,000 packages and the user only has access to 50 of them – and the items per page dropdown is set to show 10 packages per page.
PACKAGE COUNT:
The package count in the bottom left (ex. “Showing 1 to 10 of 2,000”) is incorrect, if the user only has access to 50 packages.
The message should say “Showing 1 to 10 of 50”.
PAGINATION:
The current pagination is a bad and confusing user experience.
The user sees an empty report table with the message “No matching downloads found”.
But, the table has 200 pages.
And the user has to click through every page to try and find which pages will actually display a package to them.
The users aren’t going to naturally expect that they have to do that.
This is not good functionality.
In this case, the user should see:
A report with 5 pages, each page shows 10 of the 50 total packages that they are authorized to access.
Are you going to fix this pagination quickly?
Thank you!
Hi,
Is this [wpdm_all_packages] shortcode going to have performance issues if all packages are loaded?
For performance, is filtering and pagination handled at the database level?
This [wpdm_all_packages] shortcode used to work as expected to show the user the correct package count (the total number of packages they have access to) and have pagination that works correctly based on the number or records that they selected to be displayed per page.
Why would it require customization to fix those bugs?
Thank you!
Hi,
Would you be able to go into more detail about how to setup my requirement through this addon?
Thanks
Thank you Humayon,
Can you please go into more detail about how my requirement will work / be setup through the newsletter add-on.
I would like to know for sure that this will work in the way I’ve described it before spending money on it.
The documentation is not very detailed:
https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/installation/
I need the ability to send out automatic emails to users who have access to a newly created package notifying them that a new file is available for them to download.
Thanks
Hi Tanvir,
I have downloaded the Advanced Access Control Plugin, but I am unable to get the package to show up in the ‘My downloads’ section by category alone.
Is there a setting that needs to be activated in order for this to work for categories?
I am only able to get the package to show up in ‘My Downloads’ if it is specifically assigned to the username.
Thanks!
Thank you for the reply Tanvir.
It doesn’t look like this bulk import functionality allows you to manually set a download history.
We would like to manually update the file download history to match what existed with our previous plugin. We do not want them to lose the logs of what they have downloaded in the past.
Is there a way you can manually update a package/files download history?
Thanks!
Hi Tanvir,
Thank you for the reply.
Does this Addon work with Categories as well? Or does it only work if you specify the specific usernames in the Package?
For example, will users who have a access to download Packages within a certain Category see those all of the Packages they have access to in the ‘My downloads’ section? Or does the ‘My downloads’ section only show you Packages that have specifically be tied to a username?
Thanks
