Hi again – I was wondering if you have any updates for me. I’m getting daily emails from readers who cannot access the packages. They get the same “Invalid Link” issue. If I remove the email lock on a package, it seems to help. But the only reason I upgraded to the pro version was to get the email lock. I looked back at old tickets and saw some others had the same or similar issue. Is there anything you can do to help me? I’m really getting stressed about losing readers and providing a bad UX.

Hi and thank you for checking. Yes, I’ve had the download pages excluded for weeks. I’m not sure what’s causing this issue, but it’s happening intermittently with different packages, different browsers, and I can’t figure it out. But it’s definitely an ongoing issue and leading to a really bad UX for our readers. Can you look at the suggestion from BigScoots (below) and let me know if this is possible? Can we escalate to someone who can look at plugin optimization? Thank you again!

Please ask them for a way to better optimize their plugin, maybe instead of attempting to handle every single session individually it could do a single delete that will remove all sessions that are due to expire for example.
I would also reach out to download manager support for flooding your database due to storing excessive sessions, we were seeing upwards of 700 queries per second similar to:

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. The error comes up when clicking the download link in the email and the download button on the package. It’s a popup that I believe has the the WPDM logo. The login credentials haven’t changed since earlier in this thread. Thanks for your help!
Hi again, I tried this. However today I am still receiving emails from our readers that they’re getting ‘Invalid Link’ messages. I tested it myself just a few minutes ago, and I got the same invalid link message when I tried to download via email. I have to keep manually clearing the entire site cache in order to get this to resolve. Were you able to look at the suggestion from BigScoots? I’d really like to keep using the plugin but this is causing me to lose a lot of our readers and customers. For every complaint I get, I have to assume many more simply leave my site and don’t return.. it’s really bad UX. Would appreciate any help you can give me.
Hi again, my site is back up but I’m getting dozens of emails every hour with people getting an “invalid link” error when they try to download the printables. I’ve cleared the cache but now it seems like half of my readers can’t access downloads. Are you able to assist with this?

Okay, I will hold on that for now because that is beyond my comfort level.
But now I have another problem – I’m getting emails from readers who cannot enter anything into the “email address” field when there’s an email lock on the package. Okay, thank you for looking into this. I will try to check into the site caching issue.
Is there a way to change the field text in the email lock to read “first name” instead of “full name?” It doesn’t import correctly when they put in a first+last name because both names are entered in one field.
Hi and thank you. What email address can I use to create a user? This problem only started when we upgraded to pro. Never had an issue with the free version. The problem is with the email links – I’ve checked the settings as you suggested and it still says “invalid link.” It’s happening now on my end as well on this package – https://literacylearn.com/download/matching-letters-with-pictures/ Since you have admin access can you check from the backend and see what’s happening? There is only one file uploaded and attached to each package above, but they all display as though there are two files. Can you tell me why it’s zipping one file? Should I be doing something different? This will be a problem for my readers.

Hi – Thanks for the explanations, but your phrasing is a little confusing and I’m not following. For the Short U google drive link on the package, there are not multiple files. It is one file. So why is it creating a compress zip file? Many browsers automatically flag zip files as spam because malware can be hidden in it. I don’t want single files zipped. Can you please look into this for me?

In the meantime, can you tell me why google drive links to files aren’t working? Please log in and check this package: https://literacylearn.com/download/continuous-blending-cvc-printable/ I can open the drive link when accessed separately, but when I open it through the DL manager, it says “File not Found.” Is this something that can be fixed?
I’m also wondering why some packages are being shown as multiple ZIP files when they are single pdfs – Example found here: https://literacylearn.com/download/short-o-cvc-flashcards/ On this package, it displays as a ZIP with 5 files. It is a pdf with just 1 file.
Can you help me figure these things out? Thank you!
