No, sorry, I was able to select the exe icon manually that way (after contacting you) but normally the icon is automatically selected by the plugin related to the file type, right? I don’t think we’ve ever had to use the manual Package Settings > Icons option before. This is not as much of a priority anymore now that I found that manual option but still boggled why the automatic icon stopped working. Any ideas why it might have stopped working?
Thank you for your response!
That is exactly what I needed to know. Works perfectly. Thank you so much! You’re awesome.
Shafayet,
Can you please delete the url’s in my correspondence above? We noticed they’re coming up during searches. And the links are to the dev site. Or can I edit my posts so I can delete them?
Thanks so much!
OMG. Wish I would have thought to try that. Thank you so much!
I’m sorry, I’m back. I still need help figuring this out. Here’s what’s happening:
I talked to WPEngine and they turned off the timeout setting and now the file is downloading but it takes 10 minutes when it’s using WDM ( url removed ). (7.1.0 version)
But yet if I go directly to the file via url, it downloads in 2 minutes. (url removed)
And yet, if I load the file on my separate Hostgator server and use WDM using the url option, it takes 2 minutes. (url removed) (6.0.3 version )
So the combination of WPEngine and WDM takes 10 minutes. Can you help me figure out why? I have talked to WPEngine around and around and they are no help!
Btw, I tried using the chunking with default settings and it didn’t seem to make any difference.
Thank you for your help!
I solved my problem! It has to do with the hosting service, WpEngine, putting a time out limit at 1 minute. I uploaded the file to a different server and utilized the “URL” option you give and it downloaded faster and completely. I am going to try the “chunk upload” option that I just now noticed 🙂
Thank you for your help and your plugin!
