Thanks but that file didn’t open. When I opened it in notepad, it contained a load of chinese characters.
Just to confirm, If I included the URLs in the CSV file upload document, would WPDM know to download and save the file to my WP database.
What’s the best way to populate your WP theme using and XML file, URLs or files saved in a folder? Manually adding them isn’t feasible…
Thanks
Would I use the bulk upload CSV file for this? How would I associate each uploaded file to the appropriate product? There will be thousands of product listings and even more download files?
Okay. So there is no way where WPDM can download and save the files from a URL so they can be downloaded via a zip file?
Okay. So, how do I download the files from a URL and store them in the /uploads/ section in WP so two files can be downloaded in a zipped file?
Actually, Allimport does offer this with their plugin. When I import, I select the ‘Serialized’ option then add two fields for each file that I want to upload. See below…
Thanks for your response. Does this mean when I try to import multiple files into any custom field, it will not work. Allimport will import only one file?
I’ve asked Allimport whether their plugin can serialise the meta values…
Thanks. I asked my hosting company and they have confirmed it’s installed. Thanks for the response.
So, I’ve checked with my hosting provider and they have confirmed the zlib and zip and both installed and functioning on my server.
I have also noticed that If I manually import and upload images via the ‘select files from computer’ option, that the files are included in the download file. It works as it should. When I add files from a URL, WPDM won’t include the files in the folder. It seems like it doesn’t download the files to the WP media file database. How do I fix this. When I import images in bulk via and XML file, the images and download files are sourced from URL on a third-party website.
How do I fix this so I can import multiple download files from a URL via bulk import using a WP plugin?
I just heard back from my hosting provider and they said:
“I have just checked directly on your server, and I can confirm that they are installed and enabled.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
Hmm, I have the same problem. What do I need to ask my hosting provider? Whether zlib is installed on my server?
How do you upload multiple files via a custom field, not using a CSV? I use a WP plugin that imports from an XML file.
So, how do I upload multiple downloads? I.e. like in this post (http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-package/multi-file-package/)how there are multiple downloads, what var do I use to upload via a custom field? I can upload multiple files manually package by package, but not via a custom field.
What’s the best way to do this?
Should the images be added to one custom fields with comas separating them (like in the example below) or, one per custom field like in my example in the previous message?
Custom field= __wpdm_additional_previews value= http://www.example.com/image_1.jpg, http://www.example.com/image_1.jpg, http://www.example.com/image_1.jpg
Tried that like in the example below. The last image is the one that is uploaded. Do I need to change anything to upload all images?
Custom field= __wpdm_additional_previews value= http://www.example.com/image_1.jpg
Custom field= __wpdm_additional_previews value= http://www.example.com/image_2.jpg
Custom field= __wpdm_additional_previews value= http://www.example.com/image_3.jpg
Can you give me an ETA on delivery? Also, can you please answer my other question about the drop-down selector?
Shaon, I haven’t heard back from your support team after their initial response to the email provided above. This is dragging on way too long. Please have your team answer my outstanding questions…
