I cleared the site cache while the Cleantalk deactivated and tested again if the regular pdf file will download and same error showed. So I activated the plugin. I will wait for your update.
Thanks
Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin hasn’t been updated in the last 2 years. If you are firm it is a reliable plugin, please reply so I can back up the site before you troubleshoot the issue. Troubleshooting time – after 9pm Pacific Time. Waiting for your reply.
It is not working for guest users on our site. We have renewed your temp admin access since yesterday for a week.
I sent you the log to your email address.
The logs show:
The download page returned HTTP 200.
A related admin-ajax.php request returned HTTP 400.
/wp-json/wpdm/email-to-download returned HTTP 200.
The generated email download URL returned HTTP 200, but its response was only 1,220 bytes.
The browser displayed “Invalid Download File” when opening the generated email link. Since the final request returned only 1,220 bytes, it appears the plugin may be returning the error message inside an HTTP 200 response rather than serving the actual file.
Please check the token validation, guest-session handling, and file-index validation for the generated email link.
Hi, did you manage to fix the issue with Invalid download links?
Caching is not the issue here, confirmed on both levels. FlyingPress has wpdmdl and wpdmkey and even /download/ fully excluded from caching, and our hosting provider confirmed there’s no additional server-level caching layer affecting these requests either.
We captured a full reproduction in our access logs showing this is a plugin-side issue, not caching. We’ve sent the details directly to you.
It’s been a week since we’ve been troubleshooting a site-wide “Invalid download link” error, every package fails identically for guests, including a brand new test package with zero settings applied. Here’s what we’ve ruled out so far, each tested directly with before/after verification:
CleanTalk: confirmed not blocking, their own test request was approved and logged
FlyingPress cache: purged fully, added wpdmdl to Cache Exclusions, Delay JS Exclusions, and Include CSS Selectors, no change
Permalinks: flushed rewrite rules, no change
Package settings: tested with lock options off, Download Limit cleared, Cache Zip File disabled, no change
Memcached: confirmed unrelated, ruled out separately
WPDM’s own cache: cleared via Privacy > Clear All Cache, no change
Found this old thread on your own forum from 2019 describing the exact same error message, “— Invalid download link —”, appearing after a plugin update, that time tied to password-protected downloads (our packages are not password protected and free downloads). Wondering if this is a recurring bug in the codebase rather than a site-specific config issue.
Could your team check if that older issue has resurfaced in 7.5.2? Your team has temp admin access. Please release the patch to fix this error.
Thanks
Plugin got updated to 7.2.3. which has resolved download locks issue. Thank you!
I see only my original order 7.2. Can you please send it through email so i can download it?
Could you please confirm when 7.2.3 will be publicly released?
Where can we rollback from 7.2.2 to the previous version?
Download locks are not working: agrees with terms, email locks.
No one from the support team is responding to the case posted on the Pro forum but only the users who have the issue.
Changelog says:
3.3.48 – 2026.02.06
Fixed: An issue with the lock options modal
When did this fix happen? My download locks are not working. The download manager pro version is 7.2.2
We have the same issue. WPDM Version: 7.2.2
Tried disabling Flyingpress optimization, that didn’t fix the issue.
For now disabled ‘agree with terms’, ’email lock’ in some packages, till we have the fix from the WPDM developer.
