Thanks, i cant install the update alongside the current installation, 2.6.8. If i deactivate it and install the new version it works but i lose the current files.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
which table in SQL do you look in for the fields that could be changed?
i think when i first had Download Manager installed in asked about sorting by a creation date/upload date which would work with my monthly newsletters. I had this working. Then there was an upgrade and i lost the settings, now i cant find my initial thread where i asked about what change to the date order.
Basically i am after a chronological order
mmm, i m sure i used to have them like this, just trying to find my original thread to see what i enquired about
Alexanderjank, I have copied your suggestions and it has done the job, the issue for me is that i think i needed them to be listed in date created order. Now they are in a more random order than before http://culchethhigh.co.uk/the-eagle-newsletter/
I have made the changes as suggested in post #9467 and this returns an error. Returned to an earlier post and added order “by id desc” to line 600 of download-manager.php – no error and this was the change i made earlier in the year that worked. However nothing is happening now.
So, I am now questioning myself as to what i am expecting to happen, I was hoping that from the backend i can force the ordering of the files, but going through all options i cannot see this, so as a back up option i would like to be able to sort them from the front end and then any member of the publish can filter them as they wish, but i dont see any filter options at all.
The page i am working on is http://culchethhigh.co.uk/the-eagle-newsletter/ and as you can see the newsletters are in no order.
Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated.
Thank you
The link you show, isnt working with sorting by name and only was until the update earlier this year since then it has not worked and the lack of support from the designer is very limited although they did say they update in April would include this option.
So we will be sorting the downloads via WP rather than Download Manager?
When is this likely to come into play as I am now looking at alternatives for file management as i require files to be in date order.
Thanks for replying Shaon.
Im sure the custom sorting function would be the most valuable addition to sorting files and in post three of this thread from yourself you said in April “you can apply order editing file download-manager.php at line #591 but we are adding the option with next update” These updates have been and gone without the function being added.
What is custom post type?
still waiting on a response, this is very poor from the developers for such a standard option
Nope and i sent a live-support message for which i never heard back
i think this has been asked many times and limited support available
i was told this would be in the next update, since then i have done two updates and nothing has changed with regards to this. I would have thought this was a popular demand for sorting download files, yet one that is omitted.
Hi,
I was told in a previous post that sorting and filtering downloads would be available in the latest release, i think there has been two releases since and no sorting option is available.
I would like to revert back to the old version where i could list them, would it be possible to the get the file from above relisted? If Welford or Brad could do that it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hello, just updated the plugin and its reset my settings, i did believe the update was to allow the sorting without hacks, is this correct? as i cant see the option.
Or am i gonna need to re add the code above?
Thanks
here is the attachment
I get an error when adding that code, as shown in the attachment.
Would this change make me edit the sort fields in the back end or is it a live website change?
Can you advise how to make the change with this “you can apply order editing file download-manager.php at line #591”?
Thanks
Hi Shaon,
How would i do this with the line 591?
When is the update due?
Thanks
Any support with this would be much appreciated.
Thank you
