OK, ill get it done, but it may take many many hours as we have a lot of download buttons. Although Im grateful I have a fix, I must say that I am very disappointed in the quality of this product. We use a lot of plugins and this is the only one that has been problematic. This isnt the first time your plugin has caused breaking issues on our site that has taken many hours to fix, and Im dismayed to realise its unlikely to be the last. I think in the new year well have to consider a migration plan to another plugin

OK, so youve managed to fix one of the downloads, but as I look around the site there are many other download buttons that have stopped working. Do I have to go to each one and re-upload from media library ?

Thats great – thank you. Did you have to change any configurations in wordpress ? If so Ill make a note of them for the future.

Thanks

Well, it works on no-ones browser but yours

Please go to https://governance4fe.co.uk/knowledge-bank/financial-sustainability/
You will see a download link called ‘Statement of non-compliance with the CUC Remuneration Code‘.
This will not download in Chrome – it will in Edge or Firefox.

The error we get in google developer tools is:

Mixed Content: The site at ‘https://governance4fe.co.uk/’ was loaded over a secure connection, but the file at ‘https://governance4fe.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Remuneration-Code-Statement-on-the-non-adoption-of-the-CUC-code.docx’ was redirected through an insecure connection. This file should be served over HTTPS. This download has been blocked. See https://blog.chromium.org/2020/02/protecting-users-from-insecure.html for more details.

I am now on the previous version of the plugin – so my site works. I am working with a WP developer to migrate to a different plugin

I have fixed this myself by retreiving the previous version of the plugin from a backup of my site, and creating an install package and installing it.
I am going to have to seriously reconsider paying for any more subscriptions for your products. The level of support for critical bugs the YOU have created has been very poor. Why arent these things properly tested before release ?????

And by the way – deleting and re-installing the plugin doesnt fix anything

Has this been resolved ? clearly lots of people are having this issue – not just me – so it’s pointless looking at any individuals website. This latest update needs to be rolled back, or access to older versions of the plugin. YOU NEED TO SORT THIS OUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

This is worse than I thought

I changed my site-wide link template code to use [download_url] instead of [download_link]. I then had to re-save over 100 download files because changing the template will only change new download files (really?).
Now, it works in chrome – but is broken for Microsoft Edge and Firefox.

It seems you changed the download links to use ‘data-downloadurl’ rather than ‘href’, but you’ve not implemenmted it properly, and now everything is broken

I have the same problem. I have been using download manager pro in a large professional site since february. After updating to the latest version this morning, download link buttons are no longer working in chrome (but do work in microsoft edge)
This is INCREDIBLY problematic. Please roll back the recent changes as soon as possible.
