UDPATE: my host verified that the limitation is due to how they have LiteSpeed configured for their shared hosting plans. I will have to use a third-party storage to store my files that are larger than 500mb. Thank you for your assistance.

this can be closed.

I am not sure what you mean by “compress the files normally”. I have been using 7-zip to create my ZIP files for years now. I select the items I want and use 7-zip to create the ZIP file. Then I upload it to the WPDM folder on my host and attach it to the download. I am wondering if it does have something to do with my host as I recently changed hosts and now this issue has arisen. I have gone through the guides to increase the file upload size and other PHP settings. I will also contact my host and see what they say. Thanks.

It is not correct. There should be two folders inside the ZIP file: “Print” and “SocialMediaUse”. It is like it is not completely downloading the entire ZIP file. It should be almost 660MB and when I donwload it, it gets to 500MB and says it is done.

I just checked it on packages that use the Attach Directory and the Attach File options and they both work! Thank you for your help in getting this working again.

your account permissions have been updated. Yes, I put the code in the correct spot and it looks just like your screenshot.

I added the patch to line 778 and password lock still does not work. Other ideas? This is getting really annoying.

also, if I use the Attach Dir option and set the Password Lock, nothing happens after entering the password on a file and clicking the download button.

***UPDATE***
if i remove the brackets [] that get added after using the built-in password generator on the package where I individually attached the files then the Password Lock works to download an individual file in Firefox but not in Chrome. This is after I uninstalled version 4.9.8 and reinstalled version 4.9.7. I am using Bootstrap 3/

like to add that if I use the password lock and enter the password on one of the files and click the download button for that file, it zips the entire 125 files together as the download instead of just that one file. I tried adding a password to an individual file in the ‘Attached files’ section and that does nothing at all.

I have customers that need to get their files and this is very inconvenient for them and myself.

did this ever get resolved? I created a package that has to be purchased in order to download. I have checked the Must Agree with Terms lock option but it does not show up on the download page.

Thanks!

UPDATE: This appears to happen when I use the Attach Dir option in the package editor. If I use the Attach File option to add in the images so they show up in the Attached Files section, everything works fine.

Having the Attach Dir option work again would be ideal as I have packages with many pictures and it is very time consuming to individually select the images to be attached via the Attach File method. Clients that have access to some of these packages may not need to download all of the attached images so having the option to only download what they want is ideal.

Thanks!

This can be marked as complete as it is an issue with my hosting provider. They told me that they can’t fix the issue but if I wanted to purchase a VPS server from them that it may work. I am just going to cut my losses and move to a different host that I know this works on. Thanks for your time.

I tested the large file downloading on another site I manage with a different host and it works just fine. I currently have an open ticket with my hosting company to see if they can fix this issue. In the mean time, would you be willing to send me instructions on how to implement the ‘force download’ fix?

I tried changing the max execution time in the php.ini file and it still times out at 60 seconds. I guess let’s try to apply a force download and see how that goes.

I received a response from my host’s support team saying that they don’t have a download limit set but it may be due to the script execution time being set to 60 seconds. Should I try changing the 60 second script timeout to something longer?

I also have a very long delay between clicking on Download and the Save dialog box appearing. I have a package that contains a ~130MB .zip file and when I click on Download it takes a good 3-5 minutes before I am prompted to save the file. I also have a package with a ~500MB .zip file that times out.

download page and the password to download is New12345
