Sorry,
but more than 500 MB (!!) for an 1 MB picture??
And – we did tried it yesterday – for testing – with 5000M (= 5 GB) and had the same error.

which limits do you mean? PHP-Limits are as following actually:
memory_limit = 512M
post_max_size = 500M
upload_max_filesize = 500M
