Good day! I created an account so I could submit a support question.

I have a client who asked me to help upgrade their relatively unmaintained WordPress website. It’s operating a very outdated PHP version (7.4), which cannot be modernized without upgrading Download Manager. They have what appears to be a very old WPDM installation (version 4.2.1 – folders in the installation are dated 2015!). It could potentially have been an old Pro edition (the plugin files includes “function wpdm_pro_Install()” lines) as it seems to have a lot of features … but I’m not able to fully verify (the “License” tab available in the settings won’t even open).

Obviously, it is terribly out-of-sync with the progression of the plugin. Is there a upgrade path possible to leap to current versions, and migrate their existing data? They have roughly 1,800 packages created and running. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello James Rozak,

Hope you are well. You can renew your order and use the latest version of plugin. please keep the old version in a backup folder thus if it is necessary you can use that. Please upgrade and let us know if you face any issue. Please kindly check.

Thank you

Thank you – just waiting for direction from my client; but I will hopefully be doing this soon, and will let you know if I have issues. Hopefully it will be an easy transition and there won’t be major incompatibility problems. We shall find out.

I appreciate the response.
