Hi there,

I’m trying to update Download Plugin Manager on https://staging-cairnshockey.wordifysites.com/ from from v3.1.16 to v3.2.15 because the first one has a security breach, however the update broke completely the website. I’m doing this updates on a staging version before translating the updates on the live ste https://cairnshockey.com.au/

Can you help me please figure out what is causing the issue? Thanks

Hello @arianna-bianchi,
Hope you are well.
Since it’s a staging website so could you please update the WPDM to the latest version and then provide us with your temporary wp-admin login details as well as site URL in a private reply for checking the issue.
Also, it will be very cooperative if you share the related page/file/package URL with us where the issue exists?
Thank You

Hello @arianna-bianchi,
Thank you for the details. I have found that you are using the older version of the WPDM related add-ons.
According to the latest update of the WPDM, you also need to update the other add-ons as well. Please update them.
Hopefully, your problem will be solved.
With Regards

Hi Humayon,

I apologise, I didn’t have any notification about a new version of the add-ons in my website management software; I had never realised before that you can only upload the add-ons through the plugin setting, after logging in. I have now updated the add-ons and they seem to work fine, however when I try to upload ‘Download Manager Free’ and ‘WordPress Download Manager v3.0’ in the setting panel, the update orange button says ‘Success’bu I also receive an email from WordPress saying that a fatal error has occurred on the php file of the website (https://staging-cairnshockey.wordifysites.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php), and if I refresh the setting page the orange button goes back to ‘Update’.

Hi @arianna-bianchi,
Auto-install sometimes fails due to auth error or server file permission issue.
Download Manager Free latest version is 3.2.15 which should be auto updatable through the plugin section and you don’t need to use WordPress Download Manager v3.0.
Hope you understand now.
Thank You

Hi @strigga,
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the plugin and its related add-on. However, if any caching plugin is there then deactivate or reconfigure it properly.
If, still the problem exists then please, provide us with your temporary wp-admin login details and site URL in a private reply for checking the issue.
Also, please share the related page/file/package URL with us where the issue exists.
Please open a separate forum topic in the future by describing your issue there properly. So, that we can better track and give you a solution ASAP.
Thank You
