Page not found error, or redirects directly to file

I create Downloads and when I try to view the download page I get a page-not-found error (eg https://dev-ut-ssw.pantheonsite.io/download/learning-contract-addendum/ ) .

That happens for about half the downloads. For others I’m redirected directly to the file instead ( eg https://dev-ut-ssw.pantheonsite.io/download/mssw-program-options/).

You can see here how the title of the download (“Anti-racism Educational materials”) links to a page-not-found, but the download itself works.

What am I missing? I tried resaving Permalinks and deactivating/reactivating the plugin, and have made sure nothing is set as protected.

Testing extensively to try to track this down; disabled all plugins & reverted to 2020 theme, still didn’t work on Pantheon hosting. Changing my permalink structure to ‘Plain’ (just ?p=123) was the only thing that fixed this.

That’s not going to be a workable solution for the site I’m working on as it needs pretty permalinks. Any idea on what would make Downloads work with pretty permalinks?

I have gotten this working on Pantheon by also installing the Custom Post Types Permalink plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-permalinks/). It’s a hack, not a real fix, but at least minimal functionality is restored. Download Manager devs, you might want to look at what that plugin is doing differently from yours – whatever it is it works.

Leaving this open for now, Download Manger devs will hopefully fix it so both plugins aren’t required.

Hi,

If you have permalink related issue, you may have flushed the permalink settings again. it should work then. you don’t need an additional plugin for working. please let me know if the problem get resolved.

Thanks.
