Hi, I created my own template for listing of downloads. After updating the free version my template was deleted. Is there a way to upload own templates e.g. in my child theme or link to them in the shortcode? Do I need the pro version for that?

Yes, You can just copy your own template into the child theme or active theme. Please check the doc here.
