Move WP Download Manager from one site to another

Hi,
I have a client site that uses WP Download Manager to store ~1,000 resources. We’re in the process of building a new site for the client, and we need to bring across these resources. Is there a recommended/best practice process to do this? I can physically copy the files from site A to site B easily enough, but is it recommended to use an Import/Export tool, copy database tables, etc?
