Why does the plugin automatically render a preview for video files, but does not automatically render a preview image for each image? It makes sense to need the feature image for file-types that may not be readable by WordPress core, but as JPG/PNG and such are, why is this not done automatically (or is there a setting that does?)

Do any of the paid versions feature this automatic thumbnail generation?

Hi Rick, if you want to do automatically render for image, you should find this funcion in settings. In your situation you should switch off video rendering and then switch on automatically render for images! May be I’m wrong, but it helped me.
