How to remove custom post?

Can you please provide us with a screenshot of the section you want to remove? Also, if you don’t want to create a new package/file from Downloads ► Add New then you can go to Downloads ► Asset Manager, upload the file and share it using asset shortcode.

Please follow this screencast I just made for you. Hope now you will be able to remove a post page after a PDF was created.
Alternatively, there are other link templates without page links. Please try using the shortcode:

Yes, you can update the plugin without losing the custom code if you follow my screencast properly. Because as you can see in my screencast that I have changed the code by copying files from the plugin directory to the theme directory. So there is no chance to lose the custom code.

You have to replace [download_link] with <a href="[download_url]" class="btn btn-primary" target="_blank">[link_label]</a> in the related PHP file.
