How to change the filename of a package just before download starts?

Say I have a file called word.exe when the user clicks on the download button i want my site name to be appended to the file so it becomes word-sitename.ext.

Came across this ‘wpdm_download_filename ‘ while searching through docs. how can I make use of this?
