When I add a download. a page of this download is automatically created. But I only use these files by the short codes. I don’t need to create pages.

Then I would like these pages not to be created. Or that they are not visible in my search results.

How can I please do this?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,

You can also check from the Media Library files protection option like the image attached,

img

you will also find the file shortcode there. please let me know if it works for you.

Thanks.

Hello
I use a translator, maybe that’s why you didn’t understand my request. I apologize for that. I will try to be more precise and illustrate my problem.

I have a lot of downloads as you can see here:
null

I also have articles:

In my articles, I present the file I propose for download via a shortcode of this file:

So far, so good. Everything’s working perfectly.
But the problem is that when the user searches for an item with a search module, the downloads are also displayed, like this:

and when we click we arrive on this page:

But I don’t want this page to exist because I don’t want to use it. I would like that in my search results. Only my articles will appear

Thank you for your help

Hello
Thank you for your intervention, but it didn’t have the desired result, on the contrary.
What did you change? Because the result isn’t what I wanted.

You can see in the picture above that the downloads (red) and the articles (green) are still displayed.

The only change is when you click on them. They don’t open anymore, it redirects us to “#”.

I found a trick to put all the download pages on visibility off, I’ll do it manually …

Can you go back to the action done on my site please because she didn’t solve my problem, on the contrary.

Thanks for trying to help me anyway.

Hello
I can confirm that everything is fine as it was before. Thank you,
Do you have the possibility to set the visibility of all downloads automatically from public to private or do I have to do it manually?

Thank you

No, It is a WordPress default feature, If you want to restrict download packages with user roles, you can do it by Allow Access option by giving access to certain users. There is also available bulk apply option for all packages, the add on called, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-default-values/

Thanks.
