Hello – for the past month our zipped files are getting a File not found! link. Single file downloads are fine. We had success with zipped files for overa year.

I have an older version of Download Manager Pro (6.3.6) that I intended to update to 6.7, but I just want to ask if that is likely the reason, or whether there is something else at play.

I should add nothing has really changed on our end – just a combination of PDF files, zip files, some images – all dragged and uploaded to the server. Perhaps a WordPress version has thrown it off with the version of Download Manager Pro (6.3.6) and that has been fixed in later versions?

Hello, Mike

I hope this message finds you well and thanks for reaching out.

We strongly recommend updating to the latest version of Download Manager Pro (6.7 or newer). Updates often include important compatibility fixes, improvements to file handling , and enhanced stability with the latest versions of WordPress.

If you have further queries, feel free to ask.

Regards

Regarding the version leap from 6.3.6 to 6.7 — yes, we do have experience with updates across multiple versions. In most cases, the update process goes smoothly.
However, because there are always slight risks (such as compatibility with themes or other plugins), setting up a staging site first is the safest approach. Also make sure you have a full backup of your site before proceeding. That way, if anything unexpected comes up, you can quickly restore.

If you’d like, you can purchase a single license and use it on both your staging site and live site — but only one domain at a time. If you want to keep the live site active while also working on a staging site, then you would need an additional license.
