This is a great plugin, but would be even greater with the addition of an Option (actually 2 options), which would be:

1. Add support for Post Tags (the post tags were unregistered in the version I initially installed and custom tags added instead). For our purposes, we need to associate downloadable assets with post content via the Post Tags. By removing support for Post Tags, the only other way would have forced us to create custom tags and then go back through many thousands of posts to add those Tags – that was not workable with the amount of content we have, so I hacked the plugin to add back in support for Post Tags and remove the Custom Tags since we don’t need them;

SO toggle option to support – or not – Post Tags would be a welcome addition.

2. Add the option to disable (not use) Custom Tags if they’re not needed. Some users might like them, others like us don’t need them, so again a toggle option to add – or not – Custom Tags would also be a welcome addition.

I’m just getting ready to update to the current version but must download it first (not use the “update now” feature in my Plugins page) and hack the new version, then upload it after hacking it again.

If you could add these Options – or at the very least the ability to support Post Tags so we can use those – to a future version (hopefully soon) then I won’t need to continue hacking it…..I’d really much rather use auto-updates or even 1-click updates so your consideration will be gratefully appreciated!

Use can add constant define('WPDM_USE_POST_TAGS', true); in your wp-config.php to keep post tag instead of custom wpdm tags.

Thank you so much Shahjada for the suggestion, I did not know I could use wp-config.php for that! I’ll use that instead of hacking the plugin. Much appreciated!!
