Hi all,

Some background first – upon a fresh install of WP 5.2.2 and WPDM Free 3.0.1, I was getting the spinning wheel in Digital Asset Manager, debug showed PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function WPDM\mime_content_type() in /home/(mysite)/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/libs/class.AssetManager.php on line 298

After some fighting with the host to enable mime_magic extension (suggestion from Stack Overflow), not sure what exactly they did, but at least switching PHP version from 5.6.4 to 7.0.33 got it working. Now, however, I am having another issue – the Asset Manager seems to completely ignore my Base Dir setting (which is presently /home/(myaccount)/public_html/(mysite)/base, and always displays my site root and everything in it.

On another note, is it at all possible to have the base dir set to a directory ABOVE my site’s root, something like /home/(myaccount)/public_html/private/

Perhaps, I am just missing something and this is normal, in which case, please forgive my ignorance.
Thank you!

Hi,
Now asset manager shows root directory for Administrator only, However, we shall add option to use file browser root from wpdm settings from the next update of the plugin, so you will be able to adjust the root directory from wpdm settings.
For the latest version of wpdm we recommend PHP 7+.

Thank you Shahjada!
For the second part of my question – would it be at all possible to set the downloads dir above the site root? I did see that download-manager-files is .htaccess protected, but that would be totally awesome.
