When I select “enable email lock”, “ask for visitor’s name”, and “download instantly” I get “LINK-EXPIRED”.
If I turn off all the Lock Options it downloads the file just fine.
Hi,
I’ve been through all of the settings, tried to upload a file again, but the problem is remaining the same, only two files on the page can be downloaded, the rest download a file-not-found.txt file. I also can’t find a solution in this support forum, so I am turning to you for help please.
You will need to login to access the downloads, how can I send that to you?
The page where the downloads are is at http://www.churchbuildingprojects.co.uk/downloads
Thank you.
@offthepage, actually no way, as v4 using custom post type and taxonomy there was to way to keep the link, But we converted to custom post type ( v3 was not using custom post type) in v4 for better performance though it will give some extra work for user in migration process
@GWalles, please use this http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ add-on for short-code generator.
here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/add-ons/ are also some other free add-on could be useful for you.
for download link issue, please try short-code from tinymce button again
Hello,
I just paid for Version 4 and upgrade accordingly from the free version. Maybe its just me, but the free version worked perfectly. There was a short-code generator that I could use to drop downloads into posts or pages. This is completely missing in Version 4.
I have created packages in Version 4, but cannot put them into any posts. I have tried copying the shortcode link for a package and pasting into a page/post. However, when you click the link to download all I get is redirected to an unknown page (probably created by wpdm).
I cannot understand the huge differences in useability between the free and paid version.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
G

Shaon,
My only problem is that this plugin is the only one that does it. All the other one are fine.

Attached is another screen shot of another plugin
it is not an problem actually, but looks like your monitor resolution is small and there are to many columns

Does any one else have this problem?
Please see screen shot of problem.

@rebeccafonseca, “$package” array container all data about the package , but you need to know php to handle this.
@seamstobesew, download count should work fine, please give me a temporary wp-admin login info and the url where saw the download count is not working properly in a private reply. I’ll check
Since it’s been 3 weeks since I reported via email support that my download counter for the pro version isn’t working, I to would like this function, since I could manually add the download counts via the email I receive. However, I would like the email to tell me which download file the user downloaded since I don’t do member downloads. Is that possible?
as you are getting package info in callback function you can set up email for any specific packages or categories. you need write code to check if package is under the category.
I can successfully link to a directory and the files are listed but when I test the downloads all I get are download-manager-files.txt files. If I manually add a file to the Package it does work.
Please advise. Thanks
please add <?php wp_reset_query(); ?>
at the end of wpdm-all-downloads.php
Hi
I don’t use Nextgen… the problem is, if the plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/ is active, then all downloads ending as a zero byte file.
We just purchased the plugin today, along with Advanced Access Control.
We need to have files available on a per-user basis, but we don’t want users to see the files of other users. “Only Block Download Link” won’t work because we don’t want the other users to see files they can’t download. The “Hide Everything” option makes it so the user can’t see anything at all, even if they have permissions on some of the files. I would like to add the desired functionality myself, to hide only the downloads that the user can’t access. Then the plugin would be perfect.
However, now the plugin is not displaying any downloads at all using the following shortcode: [wpdm_category id="2" order_by="create_date" order="desc"]
See attached screenshot. Let me know if you would like me to send over the admin login to poke around. I had installed a few post permissions plugins, but they are uninstalled now. Thanks.
Hi Shaon,
When you say access to everything, what do you mean?
What do you mean by “wdpm-extended-shortcode” add-on is not translation ready. Does that mean I cannot use it yet?
On a more serious note, when I try and visit the site now it comes up with:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find padi-downloads.com
Access a cached copy of padi-downloads.com
Are you still working on the site? What do we need to do to reset it?
John

I DID have the free version installed. And a number of files had been uploaded to the site. My reluctance to simply install my-best-guess zip file is based on my fear of destroying all the work that had been done with the free version.
So, I assume the instructions for installation are:
— Install “download-manager-4.0.7.zip” in Plugins
— Install the “add-on”
— use “Copy to premium” on “Downloads Settings” page.
Which leaves me with these questions: where and how do you install the “add-on”? Is the “add-on” actually a “plug-in”?

“7. If you had free version installed earlier and need to import data to pro version, please download, install and activate the add-on here: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/”
————————–
I thank you for your help in this. I appreciate your offer to set it up and likely will take you up on that if I cannot clarify the installation instructions. I do not want to obliterate someone else’s hard work, since it was my mistake installing the free version instead of the pro.
