I went there and made sure that the License code is correct and I clicked on “Save Settings” and a message came up that said “Invalid License Key”. I checked on my purchase page and it said “Active”.
Not sure what to do now.
Thanks!

Hi Nayeem…I found it last night in the database and updated all the files by hand. Everything is working now. Thanks for your help! If I run into the same problem again, I’ll consider the plugin. You can mark this closed.

Here’s my questions:
If I purchase that plugin, it will allow me to add an additional user role to the Allow Access field for all EXISTING packages?
Is there a way you could give me a PHP hook that would update the correct rows in the correct table?
Can you tell me the name of the database table where the Allow Access field lives?
Thanks!

I’m trying to fix the following page:
https://zcla.org/member-area/member-resources/recorded-talks/
On this page, the packages do not show up, unless I add “Private Content” to the Allow Access field. When “Subscriber” is in that field, as it has always been, the packages do NOT show up. And they always did before.

Looks like all of a sudden, after the last update, WPDM is checking for the database user role, rather than the emulated Private Content role. Bummer.

I think what you are telling me, is that there is no fix and either I have to manually update 1000 files or purchase another plugin from you…or I learn php to update the database rows. Ok. I will think about it.

If I purchase that plugin, it will allow me to add an additional user role to the Allow Access field for all EXISTING packages?

Thanks for your efforts.

Right now, all the users are Private Content users, so they are not full WordPress users. They are being emulated as “Subscribers” by the Private Content plugin, but suddenly it doesn’t seem like Download Manager is seeing that (whereas it used to, because we’ve been using it for months).

I tried emulating different roles to the PC users, but nothing I tried worked. I tried Contributor, Subscriber, Customer and Shop Manager. But none of them worked, even when I added those permissions to a specific audio file.

However, if I go into an individual audio file and add “Private Content” to the “Allow Access” field, the file shows up right away on the download page for a normal Private Content user. Even when I delete Administrator and Subscriber from that field, it works.

So, now it looks like I have go manually through about a thousand files and add “Private Content” to the Allow Access field? Is there any way of modifying all the files at once and adding Private Content to the Allow Access field?

Hope that makes it clearer what the problem is.

Thanks!
Reeb

It’s still not working. I’ll try to describe what is happening.

When I am logged in as an admin user, the page works great. Admin users obviously have access to all the files.

However, when I am logged in as PrivateContent user, none of the the audio files show up. The PrivateContent users, who are mirrored as “Subscribers” should have access to all the files.

Trying viewing the page when you are logged in as the admin user (I left your account active). It works!
Now try logging in as the following user into our Members area and now view the page. No content shows up.

WPDMprivatecontent
Wpprivate12@

The page that doesn’t work: https://zcla.org/member-area/member-resources/recorded-talks/
The page used to log-in to the Members Area: https://zcla.org/member-area/

Thanks for any help.

I went into settings and it says:

When user is not allowed to download: Hide Everything
And I changed it to “Only Block Download Link”.
And all the files showed up again.

And I can download them and play them in the browser, even when I’m not logged in as admin.

Was that the right fix?

Thanks! Hope you are well!

Also, just a heads up. The page works great if I am logged in as admin. However, I am getting emails from users saying the page still doesn’t work. It looks fine and the categories are all visible. But no actual content shows up on the page. I was able to recreate on my end by logging out as admin and then logging in as a normal user. There are no downloads visible on the page, so it’s still broken. I’m exploring around trying to see what the problem is.

Awesome. Thanks a million! I will let everyone know.
Can you let me know what the problem was? Or how to fix if it happens again? Or what I did wrong?

I was getting the same error. This is the second time I’ve had to do this process. The last time I did it, it broke our download page and I had to modify the shortcode to get it to work correctly.

I just did the process again (I uploaded via FTP and it seemed to go fine) and it “worked” but once again our download page is completely broken. This time it is broken in a different way. There are no downloads listed and none of the categories seems to work. Also the page looks quite different. Can you provide some advice?

Here is the shortcode that I am using:

[wpdm-archive cat_view=”default” button_style=”default” showcount=0 link_template=”5c830ecaed300″ items_per_page=”30″ order_by=”date” order=”desc” login=1]

Download Manager is 5.2.2.
WPDM Archive page is 3.1.1

Thanks for any help!
